you were the one constant i had
in a world that was always changing.
you kissed the blood back into my veins
and healed my heart plagued with pain.
just as the seasons, you had to change too.
it got to a point where i didn't know what to do.
my hands were tied, my heart bruised.
i felt unwanted and used.
the pain came flooding back,
pouring through the cracks
of my heart that you shattered,
as if i never even mattered.
i completely gave you my life
instead you turned me aside
i looked forward to the afterlife
but it seemed selfish to die
my trust was broken.
all my devotion for nothing.
i thought i knew everything.
but i only know one thing.
someone will love me
but it won't be you.
