How far will love take us?

Chapter 3

A/N: This may be slow and scattered, but it will soon all make sense and hopefully be a great story! Stick with me! 

Chapter 3 

It is the morning that the Red Mountain Pack is to join our home and help to keep our defenses strong. My sister and I are at our vanities trying to get ready before we have to be by our fathers side to greet them. I have on my black maxi skirt and a razor back white tank. I threw on my favorite white flip flops and was finishing the look with some make-up. I chose to go light and just throw on some mascara to allow my eyes to pop. When I was done I ran over to my sister and grabbed her so we could get out the door. 

As soon as we left the door Gavin and Devin were waiting for us. Our personal body hunks were ready to take us around the pack house. We may of been lucky the other day with the rogues on our own territory, but if I was right that was only a test to see how strong we really were. We have no idea how many of them or how soon they will attack again. But, hopefully now we will be ready.

We followed the house around to the main ball room; which is large enough to greet our new family that will be with us for some time. The Alpha is a huge stalky man with shoulder length black hair and stunning blue eyes. He is built like house and could take one down as well. His Luna is the complete opposite. She is barely 5 foot tall and very dainty. She may be tiny, but I think that woman could take me with her pinkie. 

The Beta was a different story he had bright red hair that was in curls, he had green eyes and light skin. He had muscles, but he didn't work out and make them his main concern. His mate is almost the spitting image of him. She has long wavy red hair with hazel green eyes and freckles on her nose. She looks like she is very sweet and fun to be around. The Gamma is a blonde man with dark chocolate eyes. He doesn't seem to have a mate and I feel for him immediately. 

We all wait our turns to be introduced and to welcome them into our home. The Alpha is Dante and his Luna is Lily. The Beta male is John and his mate is Delilah. Finally, the Gamma is Stephen. Although he asks me to call him Steve. As he is about to be introduced to my sister when he freezes and it happens. Melanie and Steve just stare into each other's eyes for what seems like forever.

From the side of me I hear in a deep voice which I figure to be Dantes'. 

"Congratulations Stephen, you have found your mate." He gives him a huge grin and takes Lily's hand. He looks to our Alpha Jeremy to show them to their room and leaves with the Beta in tow.

As I watch them leave I  feel a twinge in my heart knowing that my mate is out there somewhere and yet even my younger sister found hers before me. She was from Gamma blood, so I wasn't to surprised at the outcome. But, it still hurt my feelings none the less. I went closer to her and Steve and introduced myself better.

"Welcome to the family and I hope we get to know you morethrough this time. But, I ask one thing, please take care of my lil sis for me. She is the only one I have."

He looks at me with such strenght and hugs me telling me in ear that he would die for her. That is all I need to thank him and give my sister a hug.

I walked away from my sister and her mate and allowed them to get to know each other better. Lost in my thoughts I was walking around the grounds with my body hunks just behind me. I had my hands down fiddling with my cuticles. Lost in my thoughts. 

What is wrong with me. Why is it that there is no one here for me. I feel so alone and vulnerable. I mean look at me I have two body guards following me around because I am now the only one in my family unable to find their mate. Even my sister now has a new pack and a mate to protect her at all costs. When will I ever find this? 

As if the moon goddess herself had heard me I don't look up in time to trip over someone and we both fall down on top of each other on the cold hard concrete. It was a girl around my age with short blonde hair, cute like tinkerbells, and bright green eyes. I picked myself up brushing of my skirt and stuck out a hand to help her up as well. Once she was standing and we were both back to upright I stuck out my hand. 

"Hi, I'm Jenny Lovejoy. I am really sorry I ran into you and crash bandicooted you, but I wasn't actually paying any attention to what is going on around me." 

She shook my hand and smiled. "Trish Littleton. Nice to meet you. "

"I haven't seen you around here, so you must be with the new pack?"

"I am. My parents help the Alpha with medicine. My mother is our pack doctor. I was forced to come to this side of the state, but I don't mind. I am hoping to see if my mate is here. What about you?"

"Actually that is just what I was thinking about when i crashed into you. I just watched my sister mate your Gamma. It is heart-breaking. I am older and still have yet to find my mate. I don't know what to do. I feel as if the Moon Goddess doesn't want it to happen for me."

We both just looked at each other now with awe. We felt the same way. I thought I was the only one, but it was great to know I had someone in the same boat as me. I knew we would become great friends quickly. So, I invited Trish to come bunk with me tonight since I was sure my sister would be with her mate. I told her which room I was in and she said she had to clear it with her mother, but she saw no reason why she wouldn't let her. So I ran back to my room with my hunky guards in tow and waited for Trish to come over.
