A/N- Hope that you are enjoying this book so far. I have no feedback yet so I hope that you enjoy it. I have been busy with real life stuff, but here I am to post again for you. Enjoy :D
I take a deep breath before I put my hand on the door and turn it. I look over at Devin and smile a half awkward smile at him before I fully walk into my dads office. He has his head down and is looking at stacks of paper before he finally looks up to see me. He immediately puts a smile on his face.
"Hey Baby Girl, whats going on?"
"Nothing Daddy, I am just worried and I was hoping you might tell me something. None of the boys will tell me anything in fear of you I am sure. So I figured I would go to the source."
"Well, they were right to not tell you anything, but unfortunately I am not at liberty to say anything either."
"Daddy, come on? Please. Tell me something." I bat my eyes and pout my lips and I can see him crumbling.
"Jenny, my dear. There is not much I can tell you and if I do tell you it needs to stay between us."
I nod as he tells me this. As soon as I look him in the eyes with my big puppy ones he folds. I automatically feel the mind link.
Okay my Sweet girl. There is a pack of Rogues out there that will do anything to get back at the higher members. They will kill anyone that gets in their way. They want to make us hurt as badly as their friend is hurting and will do whatever it takes. Please stay safe and quiet okay. I dont want the rest of the pack members to be constantly afraid or to stop being with this pack. They will be rogues and therefore not protected anymore. Okay?
"Okay Daddy, I got it. I understand. Thank you."
Daddy, do we know how close they are? Do they have a camp near us?
No Jenny. They are hiding somewhere and covering the scent so we are quite lost. That is why I want you protected. Okay?
"I love you Jenny, I will talk to you later?"
"Of course Daddy. Love you too."
With that I left the room. I needed to take what he told me and think about it. I had to talk to Trish and see what she wanted to do. I believe we had our way out of the pack house, but it wasn't safe outside these walls and we would have to act fast. I couldn't ask any of the warriors to help us because they would immediately tell my father to protect me. I understand why they would do it, but they are only thinking about the job at hand.
I walked to her mothers work to see if her mother could tell me where to find her. But, she was already there. She was sitting in the lobby with a few pack members just reading a book and playing with her phone. I think she was texting a friend from her pack about what is going on and wants to make sure everyone is okay that stayed back. I walk over to her and she doesn't notice me so I use it to my advantage. I know this is a place of business so I make sure to not be obnoxious. I walk over to her and lean over so I am barely next to her.
"Excuse me miss how much do I owe you?"
It makes her jump and makes me laugh so hard that I get shooshed at by a few patrons and glares from the others that didn't want to make a fuss telling me to hush. She smiles at me and gets up. She tells the receptionist to let her mother know she will be close by with me and a warrior and to call her if she needed her. The receptionist nods and goes back to playing candy crush on her cell waiting for the next patient or phone to ring.
We walk outside the building and wander over to a bench next to a tree. I sit down and pat the seat next to me to get her down with me. I look at her and she immediately sees it in my eyes. She knows that I am worried and that makes her fidget in her seat a bit. She glances side way at Devlin and then looks back at me. I'm sure she is just making sure he is far enough away so we can talk freely.
