Maybe it was kind of a fate thing. Maybe before Cree was even born, before any of her children were born, a young woman was doing her own thing and trying to find her own way in the world. Maybe she too carried an egg that she came by randomly.
Maybe it was the start of everything.
Perhaps it was a kind of destiny that Abbie hatched to see this woman and then see that same woman find a man and have children. Them both raising their children together and when it was time, Abbie was passed on from the woman to her daughter; Cree.
Cree wanted more than to be a daycare worker. She wanted to explore and to battle Pokemon and find her own way. The same thing that all the young ones want. Her parents wanted to make sure that above everything else, their daughter was going to be safe, and since Abbie had been there for Cree's whole life it would be decided that Abbie would be with Cree for the rest of her own.
Abbie and Cree went through the most together. All the ups and downs that life threw at Cree; Abbie was there with her. Abbie was a rock, a safety net, a confidant, a mother. When Cree went on to do what she aimed to get away from when she left home; Abbie was there to help. Her own child left her and the tiny babies that was constantly coming and going from the daycare made her feel like a mom again. Over and over again.
Cree was still as uncertain about her future as she had ever been. Did she want to be a daycare worker forever? Certainly not. Not that she hated being a daycare worker, in fact, she kind of loved it. Though, she didn't love it enough to be her forever. Cree did her best to keep these kinds of things off of her mind; the uncertain things.
The other thing that she tried to keep off her mind was Abbie's age. Abbie was very old and it was obvious to nearly everyone that looked at the Kangaskhan. Though, people never put the connection of a Pokemon dying from old age because most people had their Pokemons for the duration of their lives. To Cree, this was something she had to worry about, because Abbie had been alive longer than her; it wasn't as if Cree just found her when she was a trainer. Cree had to worry about Abbie's lifespan but she didn't want to. She didn't want to picture a life she was living where Abbie wasn't there.
Yet a part of her knew that she had to because nothing could live forever. Not even Abbie.
So what else could Cree do but cherish the time that they had left together? Nothing but exactly that and she would.
And she did.
