I look around the room as I enter.
I can see black helium balloons covering the entire roof,
And frills on the walls;
Oh! And a freshly baked cake, rouge. There are people all around me,
Wearing their best.
And the laughter on their faces,
Shows an unmistakable zest. But as I enter, all eyes turn to me.
Me, wearing blue.
Me, looking around the room, searching!
Me, looking for you..Even though I don't find you,
I move on to greet my guests...
And pretty soon they all gather around the table,
Even when my eyes are set on the door,
Waiting for it to burst open, with you holding a bouquet in your handsMt tears drop on the candles.
'My' day seems blue.
But who would notice?
They just sing "happy birthday to you"You know what?
Sometimes, I question myself.
I question us.
Do you even love me?
Or is it just yourself?Sometimes, I ponder for long..
That if I make the first move again,
Would it lead to a 'hi'
Or would I be risking another goodbye?I am still waiting,
In my blue dress.
For you to come bursting through the door in an amazingly well-fitted tuxedo
With a stupid grin on your face.
Tilting your head and giving me some lame excuse.
But then hugging my and taking away the pain.
Coz I still remember,
How you were my magician.
A perfect illusion of my eyes
Capturing my happiness in polaroids. The party ends, everyone goes back home.
Everyone but the hope in my eyes that you will show up.
And late at night you text me " I'm sorry I couldn't make it"
And I said " I'm sorry too"Next time you forget my birthday,
Just remember, I won't wake up everyday.
