Um...it has been brought to my attention how calling ninjas 'ninjas' make the story seem less plausible, so as a result I've took the liberty of finding something else to call them.

Behold, this is the appointing of a new term; the 'ogittou' which means hidden blade. A fitting name for assassins right? :)

Enjoy

Chapter 2 :

Sun and Moon

All I could see was a black void.

No up or down exist here

There are no sounds yet there are.

There is no air but yet still I breathe.

No light but still I see.

Here, everything contradicts itself.

Where is this?

Where is 'here' ?....

(Five years ago, I lost my brother in the blink of an eye and the clan just fucking watched!....)

A voice...

(When I start this war there will be no shortage of volunteers, nor absence of patriots or martyrs...)

Where?

(I know you understand.... )

I don't...

-Silence-

A deep throated and very different laugh reverbrated throughout the ink blackness.

"Finally, someone worthy of me." The voice was deep and struck a deep similarity to a growl.

Where have I heard this voice before?

"Though, this is the last time I'll bring you back to the world of the living."

The void blackness bleached back revealing a bright white and a majestic creature. A dragon.

How small must I seem in its eyes?

It's scales amber and it's wings and tail larger and longer than any living creature I've seen.

"Are you ready?" It asked. Raising it's wings.

"Wait!" I asked.

It lowered its head to me.

"May I?" I asked stretching my hand towards it.

My fingers brushed against tiny scales and my body tingled, my mind overflowed with visions, scenes, places I've never been to, people I've never seen, skys I've never examined, groups of people...refined and crude, death of people, birth of children, life styles, customs, leaders and.....battle.

I pulled my hand away. "What was that?" I asked. "Please tell me!" His eyes looked me over.

"Your family's past." He replied. "Even if you no longer have a link to my essence you still posses an undeniable

access to memories of those who have linked with me before."

He eased back and raised his head up, his eyes all the while glued on me.

"Still, You are different than other clansmen, you are of royalty."

The blue eyes of an amber dragon.

I woke up to the strong odor of disinfectant and rythmic beeping.

My throat was dry, and my body hurt all over.

"Where?" I tried but ended up coughing.

"Alice? You're awake!" Tsutchie who was by my side said clearly overwhelmed. "I thought you'd never wake."

"Where am I?" I asked.

Vehretta's clan hospital.

"So where is she?" I asked trying to get up only failing miserably.

"She and the others are on a mission right now," she answered "Vehretta may not seem like much but she's currently the clan head and she's kinda required to handle diplomatic missions personally."

Tsutchie stated relaxing a bit.

"So rescuing me was...?"

"A favour," she replied "Vehretta knew your dad."

"Do you?" The words escaped before I had the chance to think.

She shook her head "Never met him."

She was wearing regular clothes and without her gear she really looked small and fragile. With a physique of a small child.

"Would you stop doing that?" She asked "it's gross and I'm not into other females."

I was staring.

"Sorry," I said and looked away.

"You're weird," she stated with a little laugh.

"Well, you're a-" I started.

"-A midget?" She asked.

"N-no," I stuttered "I wasn't gonna say that."

"And you're a horrible liar," she stated.

"You know you can't go home right?"

"I figured."

"That's why I'm gonna get you to learn some basic self-defense techniques." She started.

"Could you show me where Dylan lived." I cut in without any regard for what she had said.

I wasn't in the mood to talk about something like that.

"Apparently self-defense isn't the only thing you'll need to learn,"

She stated a little angrily and then looking at me she sighed.

"He stayed at the ogittou academy, it's like a boarding school for clan royalties."

The door opened and a nurse walked and gave a small bow and then "is there anything you'd like?"

I looked at Tsutchie and then back at the nurse.

"Um could I get some water?" I asked finally managing to put myself into a sitting position.

"Just a moment," she replied with another small bow before exiting.

"Yeah, perks of being a guest of the clan head," Tsutchie explained "oh and Vehretta told me to tell you to stop relying on your essence for sustenance, it'll speed up your aging process."

"In other words, you need to eat something."

"Huh?" I was now without a doubt confused.

"Your essence fully is active unlike the average human." Tsutchie added "so you need to be careful about what you do else you'll end up a vegetable."

She was serious.

"So when will I get to see Dylan?"

Tsutchie looked at me with a sort of pity that no ones ever looked at me with before.

"Sorry, slip of the tongue."

The furnitures like most of the other things in the room was cotton white.

"Alice..." Tsutchie said softly.

"I really liked him you know... And now he's."

She held onto my hand, "I know, I know..."
