Echo

Resonating ruefully

With its own pulse

It thrums with the drum of my fingers

It is bound by the pound of my heart

It whacks with the cracks of my back

Scraping steadily along the inside of my rib cage

Reverberating painfully

Regurgitating memory

Residue, it clings to the marrow of bone

And floods air that fills lung

Robs youth that fills young

Bouncing between frail shell of my skin

Denouncing my right to live peaceful within

Slamming to and from noisily

Mimicking alive

Untouched by time, it's caged

Infecting mind, enslaves

As if with touch of lips, my Adam blew

A foreign life into me, sealing it unthinkingly

With a kiss of misery

Enclosing it inside, it is reluctant to let go

Forever doomed to whisper wound

Forever doomed to echo
