Well she's certainly not what I was expecting.
I thought living in a town would make her a girly girl. but she not, she's just as boyish as she used to be. I grin listening to my daughter talk of her childhood growing up with the Swans. she talks of a time when she egged her least favourite teachers car on the last day of term, and when she flushed the schools bullies goldfish down the toilet on show and tell day. Sue gives her a disapproving look, while me, Billy and Phil laugh. I look across at Billy while the others are talking about something. He nods his head at me and I know what he means.. My.... Daughter..... Is...... AWSOME!!!
"SHIT" Binnky suddenly jumps up, looking towards the clock.
"Language in this house Bink" Phil scolds quickly
"Sorry, it's just that I'm late for the yard and I've still got Maxie to do as well as Mrs Poswans mare. She'll fire me if I'm....." She trails off glancing at the clock again.
"To much later" she giving a sheepish grin to Sue.
"Do you need a lift honey?"
"Well only if your offering, I wouldn't want to make you later for anything or be an inconvenience..." Sue raises her eyebrow
"Yes please" Binnky rambles.
"Hurry up then, let's go" She grabs her bag and chuck Sue her keys before making her way towards the door. I decide to interrupt here.
"What yard?" She jumps.
"Oh, urm, erh, I have a horse, Maxie, and I work at a yard to keep him"
"You ride?" I can't help but sound surprised. My daughter can ride, I thought I would have to teach her!! Every Martellie needs to know how to ride .
"A little" I know I'm beaming but I can't help it, Billy just chuckles.
"That's fantastic !!!!"
"Urmm... do you want to come see?" She asks more to be polite seeing as I'm her farther.
"You betc'ya" Me and Billy move forward and grab our cowboy hats and boots.
"Let's roll kiddo" Billy says rolling past her, I grin.
Best. Daughter. EVER.
