This could not be happening!

It was only his second day of being at Beacon Academy, and he already gained some good reputations due to the stunning smile and cute dog. But this.

Initiations have only just started, and Gunmo's nervousness made him slip up on the landing strategy.

The plan: shoot a roped arrow into a tree or structure to make it safely on the ground. It was so simple!

So, he wondered exactly how he managed to get himself tangled into the rope. The blood was rushing to his head from hanging upside down, and his remaining arrows had already fallen from his quiver onto the ground. In his frantic panic, he had also dropped his bow.

Gunmo was off to a bad start on the grading, he was sure. But he wasn't exactly too worried, as he was also certain he could make up for it.

A bark from below made him look down- well... up in his case.

"I'm okay, girl," Gunmo reassured his worried pup on the ground. The grown husky looked up at him before she started to pick up the arrows and pile them up. After, she just sat and waited.

Gunmo smiled. He was proud of how well he had trained Silver.

He bent his body to try and reach the rope around his foot. It was tight enough to keep him there, but not enough to really harm him in the long run.

However, without anything to cut the rope and not being able to reach the arrow, Gunmo was low on choices.

"Silver," he said after giving up. The blood rushing to his head was making the world spin, "Go find somebody, would you?"

Silver didn't understand.

Gunmo frowned, pointing away from the small clearing he was hanging above, "Person. Find them!"

Silver sat for a moment before her ears perked up. Her head turned before she ran off.

Gunmo could only hope it was another student, and not some grimm or other wild animal.

As he waited, he decided to have another go at the rope. He was finally able to grab onto it, but it didn't exactly help. He looked around a moment after, trying to make a grab for any nearby branches.

The first was too weak and broke when he tried to move toward it, but the second he grabbed wasn't as frail. He pulled his upper body onto the branch before turning awkwardly, reaching one hand to untie the rope. After a long struggle, he was free.

Gunmo sighed, relieved, as he sat down on the branch and allowed all the blood to flow properly now. He then reached for the arrow that had him stuck there and threw it down into the pile of them at the base of the tree.

"Hello?" A voice said from down below.

The voice caused Gunmo to jump a little, but he held firmly onto the branch that kept him safe in the tree. He looked around, seeing a woman walk from the woods towards him. Silver was leading her by the pale green scarf.

The woman had a head of fiery red curls and a short beige dress. The dress was held by a brown ribbon, and it was topped with a cropped, dark green jacket.

She held up a hand to shield her eyes from the sun as she looked up at him, "Do you need help down?"

"I'm all good, partner," Gunmo smiled at her.

He jumped down to a lower branch before landing down on the ground. He bent down to pick up his arrows, and the girl came to help.

"Partner," she mumbled, "Right..."
