The Farewell

I'm not going to see him again...
Wow that's hard to realize
I still have few weeks before my engagement party. So i can think of an excuse to quit my job.

(There's this tradition over here that you're not truly engaged except after an engagement party)

I have to think about the party and what to wear too..
I have no time to lose.
I'll tell Jack that I need time to organize the party and after that the wedding.
What a perfect lie... I hope he'll believe it.

The next day i headed to his office and told him that I quit.
"You what?" He looked so mad that he might kill someone.
"I quit"
"And why is that?" He asked and he stood facing me.
"Well... I'm going to... I'm...
My engagement party is next week and i need to prepare for it"

He approached me and i can see fire in his eyes
Inches away from my face he looked in my eyes and asked
"You are getting engaged?"
"Y..yes next week"
"To that waiter from the diner?"
"Yes"
I couldn't take it anymore.
I turned around and left..
But before i opened the door he vigorously held my wrist and whispered in my ear
"And what if i told you that you are not allowed to" he said furiously.
"And why is that?"
"Cause you're mine."
And I lost it just right there

"Yours? Oh really? I've had enough.
I've been working hard every single day ever since i first saw you just so you could recognize me and recognize that i have a mad crush on you and i care for you but instead you come here with your arrogance and your ego, judge me and throw your silly remarks..And after all this you call me yours?? Ohh noo from this day on I've got nothing to do with you. I'm sick and tired of trying to empress you."
A tear escaped my eyes and i turned away to leave.
I took a glance at him, he looked worried and sad for the first time ever..

2 days later

I was about to call my parents so they can invite the family for my engagement when i hear a knock on the door..
It was Jack
"Hello princess. May i talk to you?"

"What.. how did you.."
he called me what??
"Anyways I told you that I've got nothing to do with you anymore."
"Oh really.. but your red cheeks say otherwise."
"What do you want from mee??"
"I just want to talk"
so i allowed him to sit down and talk

"I've missed you those two days."

Ohh i missed you to, more than I expected.. No i won't let him know that.

"Hey save it. Is there anything important you need to say??"

"I'm so sorry for the way i treated you. It's just that every new employee will want to get close to me.. I just can't treat them nicely or else the boundaries between us will fade..
I just thought you were one of them..
Although I wanted to prove to you so badly that I'm a good guy but my standards didn't allow me."

Now what? Should I burst out and start screaming at him?? Or should I forgive him and say that i love him??
