The house was surrounded with Policemen. Preston got out of his car and walked towards the main door. As usual, the Police did not let anyone get through to the house but Preston was no ordinary man. He had special powers, he could make himself invisible whenever he wanted and he could also see through things.
He got into the house and went to survey the spot the body had been found. Nothing had been removed from the room. A woman was weeping on the sofa, she was the deceaseds cousin Brenda Campbell.
Preston studied her carefully, she was a high school teacher. She had no motive to kill her brother. They had maintained a good relationship.
He shifted his gaze to where the deceased was lying on the floor. His face had started to decay. It was unrecognizable.
Preston touched him and visions of how he had died came to Him. He was murdered outside the house. 'Strange' he thought.
He placed his palm on the bloodstains on the floor. The blood didn't belong to the man lying on the floor. He moved to a shelf and took out an album glancing through the deceased photos. 'something's wrong'
He walked back to the body and touched it. The visions became clearer. The man lying dead on the floor was not George Campbell but the man who killed him was George. He had been drained of his blood. He touched the bloodstains and saw visions of what happened in the room.
A vampire had transformed George into a Vampire. It was an old witch. One he had never seen before. The dead man was a veterinarian who had closed late and was on his way home. George who had just transformed needed to feed so he drained the poor vets blood.
There was something else, the witch had switched their faces. He turned to look at the dead man on the floor.
'Charles Welcher'
Aria stood at the door of the veterinary as the students walked out. The closing bell had gone off and she waited for them to leave so she could return Charles textbook and card to him.
"Hey"
She waved at him and returned his belongings to him.
"I was thinking maybe we could hang out sometime?"
"OK, I'm free after classes tomorrow".
"I'll pick you up Then"
She gave him her address and went to meet her friend so they could go home together.
Preston watched from a distance as the man who paraded himself as George Campbell exchanged notes with a girl.
He shifted his gaze from her to him. He was smiling at something she had written down. It was a cunning smile.
He stood there watching as he walked out of the hall. This man was in cohorts with the witches and he was going to get what's coming to him if he laid a finger on that girl.
