Crush

Lilia's pov
I sit down at my desk and wait for class to begin. My friends Cheyenne and Zoë come up to me giggling. "Lili, Zoë just found out something, tell her Zo," Cheyenne says. "What is it?" I ask. "Axel has crush on you," Zoë whispers in my ear.
"No he doesn't." "Yes he does, he was telling Nathan all about it." Axel is my crush. He's been my crush since last year in fourth grade. "So what am I supposed to do?" I ask. "Tell him you like him," Cheyenne says.
"I can't I'll get too nervous." "Fine we'll tell him." Zoë and Cheyenne get up and walk to Axel's desk. I grab a book and hide my face. A few minutes later, I hear someone approach my desk. "Lilia." I look up and see Axel. "Hey Axel," I say. "Two little birdies told me you have a crush on me."
I feel my heart pounding in my chest. "Yeah," I say quietly. "I have a crush on you too," he says. "Okay." He nods and walks away. After school I go to basketball practice, but all I can think about is Axel.
"Lili heads," someone yells. The basketball hits me. "Oww," I say in pain. I touch my eye and it hurts. The coach pulls me to the bench and looks at my eye. "That will leave a black eye, Jane go get some ice,"
the coach yells at the basketball manager. I hold back tears. I put ice on my eye and sit out for the rest of the practice. "Oh that's definitely a black eye, I'm sorry baby," my mom says looking at my eye.
Michael and Kaden come in the kitchen and see me. "Oh did little Lilies get in a fight?" Michael says laughing. "Probably because some girl tried to steal Axel from her," Kaden says laughing. "Boys knock it off," my mom says.
"How did you hear about Axel, Kaden?" I ask. "His brother Rylie told me at recess that Axel told you he liked you after your friends told him you like him." I nod. "Oh a boy likes little Lilies? Wait till dad hears about this!"
"Michael shut up," I say. "Kids stop right now," my mom says. We become quiet. "So Michael how was iss?" "It was fine, just sat in the office the whole day with Jayden." "Ooh Jayden," I say. He rolls his eyes.

Cameron's pov
My hand is shaking. Just one push of a button will end my relationship with Michael. "I can't do it," I say as I drop my phone. Colby gets up from the couch and grabs my phone. "It's not that hard Cameron," Colby says.
He pushes the sent bottom. "There it's over, now you and I can be together." Tears come out my eyes. How could I be so selfish to break up with him over text? "Colby I don't know if I want to be with you."
"Are you serious? You just broke up with your boyfriend for me and now you're having doubts," Colby says getting mad. "I'm sorry," I say through tears. "I'm going home, have a great talk with Michael."
He storms out of my room. I get a call from Michael and let it ring for a few rings before I answer. "Hello?" I say trying to disguise my shaking voice. "Do you really want to break up with me? I thought things were great," Michael says. "Ye-no no I don't want break up with you." "Then why did you send me that text?"
"Promise you wouldn't tell anyone especially the person who was involved?" "Promise." "Colby made me send you that text because he wants to be with me," I say as I let my voice be shaky.
"My best friend, he did that?" "Yeah we've been hanging out a lot lately and I just wanted to be friends, but I guess he wanted more." "Wow." "Yeah." "So you didn't mean the part about me keeping stuff from you?" Michael asks.
"Well um." "I make you feel that way? I'm sorry Cameron, it's just so much is going on and..... there's no excuse for my actions." "I forgive you, just promise me you'll stop keeping stuff from me." "I promise....I love you," Michael says. I knew he truly meant he loved me. "I love you too."
