"Death can never be a true ending to a great novel, can it?"
The last death.
That's what this is. This is the last death that I'll ever go through, impaled on a sword. Everyone around me is dead. Lionel, Kira, Alcuard, all the survivors...
Or so I thought.
"Well, well, well, it's just you now, Gale. All alone. Poor you. Trying to save everyone, but you failed..." A voice said. Dark, raspy, deep. "...You failed your one job. Very g-"
"S-Shut up...Forsaken..." I was able to gasp out. "Y-You...Set us up...This was a trap..."
Forsaken laughed. "You finally figured it out! But it's too late." He grinned. "Just the fact that I, Forsaken, was able to defeat my own creator, Gale Lionheart, the so-called King of all Elements, with a simple ambush..." He started laughing again. "Ain't that amazing! And I was able to kill everyone along with you..."
"Y-You will...Never really...Win anything, Forsaken...You are just...A pawn..." I said, while trying to remove the sword.
Forsaken shoved the sword deeper, up to to hilt. Blood spurted out. "Hah! Tell yourself whatever you want!" He suddenly held his claws up to my neck. "I say we finish this."
-This is how I die...I can't defend anyone...- I thought to myself. -This is my last death...-
The claws stabbed themselves into my neck. Blood went everywhere. Forsaken removed his sword from my stomach, and my body crumpled to the ground. Forsaken walked away.
-No...I can't...I can...Change...Ti...me...-
A glow erupted from my body.
Everything vanished.
All of it was reversed.
Next thing I knew, I was laying on the ground, something repeatably poking my face.
"Hey, Gale, wake up!" A voice said gently.
