"Even if you trust someone with your life, do not put it in their hands. They will betray you for a promise of power at any moment."

I immedietaly tried to sit up. I wish I hadn't. My head started throbbing, causing me to lay back down again.

"Gale! Thank god your okay!" The same voice said. It sounded so familiar, I just couldn't place it...I slowly turned my head to the side to see who it was. There was a woman sitting on her knees next to me, with green eyes and long, blonde hair that flowed down her shoulders.

"X-Xila...?" I managed to choke out. Xila was one of my companions, someone who had been with me for this entire journey, and has saved my life more times then I can count. And that's not because I can't count very high.

Xila laughed. "Yes, silly! Who else would be sitting by your side while your knocked out?"

"...Lionel?"

"Besides your family."

"Sucira?"

"Okay, maybe other people would've, but I did, jerk!" Xila said, trying to make her best angry face. It must be hard to look so angry with such a cute face. She took a deep breath. "Anyways, it's good your okay. We're just about to start sending the forces to Forsaken!" My head shot up. I ignored the huge pain.

"Cancel the attack. Now." Xila looked at me like I had grown a second head, but nodded.

"Okay...I'll go tell the others." Xila walked away. I managed to lay my head back down without any pain.

"What happened back there....I could've sworn that we had already attacked, and lost horribly..." I shook my head. "Must have been a bad dream. I probably fell and hit my head. Yeah, that's what happened..." It was then that I realized I had no clue where I was. All I had to go off of while I was looking up was flat, rusty metal, and could feel wood underneath me. "Must be in a survivors village..." My thoughts trailed off for a couple minutes. Just as I had managed to sit up, I heard a door shutting and footsteps approaching me.

"Well, seems mister gracefull finally woke up." I looked to the side and saw a tall man standing a few feet away from me. He had black hair put into spikes, a pair of sunglasses, a white jacket over a black shirt, and jeans.

"Hello, Lionel. What are you doing here?" I said as I turned my head back. The last person I wanted to see when I was in pain.

"Aw, c'mon, do I need a reason to see my older brother?" He smiled and gently hit my arm as if I would break if he hit it harder. "If you really want the reason, then it's because I wanted to make sure you were okay."

I nodded. "That's almost sweet of you, Lionel. If you don't mind me asking, what happened to me?" He looked at me the same way Xila did before she left.

"We were actually hoping you could tell us. We were passing by this village when you just...fell. We thought it was just you acting up again, but we couldn't wake you up. You were konked out."

I sighed. That got me nowhere, but I could figure it out later. "I assume Xila told you about the attack."

"Yeah. Why wojld you call it off? We're so close!"

"Call it a hunch. I don't think any of us are ready for it, and throwing in soldiers who we had to take away from their families won't help. We'll just get more bodies."

"So you're telling me you're calling off the attack we've been planning forever that could save the whole world, because you have a hunch."

"Yeah, pretty much."

He shook his head. "Man, Gale, you scare me sometimes."

"Yep, I know. You're welcome."

He laughed. "Get some rest. Once you're actually awake, reconsider the attack." He walked out. I sighed and layed down, putting my hands behind my head. My eyes slowly closed, and before I drifted off into dream land, I could've sworn I heard a female voice saying, "...send the troops while he's asleep..."
