Two weeks later

I received a call from Madame Vinch yesterday, telling me that they have chosen a student for me to host and that both of them will be here the next day to finalize everything.

I spent the entirety of yesterday just cleaning house and organizing everything. I am not the most tidy person but first impressions are always important to me.

So now on the day of their arrival, I am well prepared to finally meet the student. I have a jug of water sitting in the fridge and some snacks in case my guest is parched or hungry from the trip.

Madame didn't tell me what time they were arriving, which I wished I asked beforehand so that I had a good enough idea of when to expect them.

The time is 10:30 A.M, so its still pretty early. They are probably still doing some last minute adjustments before they arrive, I'll just chill on the couch for now until they get here.

Twelve hours later

*Knockknockknock*

My head suddenly jerks upwards away from the couch due to those knocks.

Did I fall asleep? I was just watching some TV when I decided to rest my eyes for 15 minutes. Brain, why do you forsake me like this?

*Knockknockknock*

Another set of knocks are produced and it finally registered in my mind that there was someone at my door, presumably waiting for me to answer.

With a quick glance at my watch, the current time was 10:46 P.M. Its pretty late for someone to be out at night.

I made my way down the stairs to the front door, unlocking and opening the door to reveal Madame Vinch standing there, her pale skin easily visible as it contrast the night itself and her shades shimmered by the lights which were emanating from my house. She had a soft smile on her face but she also looked a bit exhausted.

"Ahh Dean, glad to see you are still up..." Madame responded, peering her head over her shoulder. Looking past her, I see what seems to be a large, white van with tinted windows, "Sorry for making you wait so long, we had some issues with transporting your homestay here..."

"Issues?" I questioned, "What kind of issues?"

As if not a moment later, the back doors of the van are violently opened and a strange, dark figure beams out faster than I could see exactly what it was.

Madame Vinch gave a long sigh and quickly pushed me and herself into the house, closing the door afterwards.

"You have a lovely house , tell me..." She paused as she basically dragged me up the stairs, looking around frantically, "You wouldn't happen to have any valuables lying around would you?"

As I steadied myself to my feet, I eyed Madame with a questionable gaze.

*CRASH*

My attention had turned away from Madem, who at this point was sweating bullets, and locked on to what sounded like something crashing through my living room window.

"This should be good."

Pushing open the door to my living room, I am immediately tackled back towards the wall by what felt like a cannonball being fired at me.

"My, oh my... what a robust host you have found me, cousin Vinch..." Looking down, I see what appears to be a small figured person with purple hair.

"You are not making a good impression right now, Evelyn..." Madame responded, looking towards her, she has her hands to her face obviously annoyed by the situation, "And would you please release him immediately."
