~Ant POV~
I wake up and look around. Everyone is awake, except Lillian and Thayne. I glance at the clock. From what I remember about the surgery, it should have just ended. I should be able to go back in about five minutes. I make small talk with everyone for a couple minutes. Soon enough, I hear someone say my name.
"Anthony Ramos?" A nurse asks. I stand up.
"That would be me." I say.
"Okay. You're the fiancé, right?" She asks.
"Yep." I say, rocking back on my heels as she stares at me, giving off flirtatious body language at me. I look at Lin, an annoyed/disgusted look on my face. He laughs slightly.
"Follow me, bud." She says, over flirtatiously. I turn to my friends and gag. She starts to walk away. I follow her to go get Jas. Once we're in the room, I look at Jas. She is sleeping peacefully, an IV in her arm and an oxygen mask on her face. The annoying nurse walks over and takes out the IV and takes the oxygen mask off. "Okay, so Jasmine's surgery went well, but she will be in a lot of pain when she wakes up. She needs to stay in bed for two days, and don't let her leg move too much-or at all." Pretty sure that it's not possible to not move your leg for two days, but okay. "She will have to be out of work for 6 months. She's going to be quite a burden." That's when I snapped.
"Excuse me, did you just call her a burden?" I say, annoyed.
"Yeah. It's the truth. She's going to need a lot of help and it's going to be a burden. Plus, she's probably weak, and will complain a lot about how much it hurts. I would leave her if I were you. Wouldn't want to deal with that." I was getting angrier and angrier. I just didn't say anything, but I was so angry. I was so close to snapping her neck. She continued. "So, I can get you a wheelchair. Oh!" She grabs paper and a pen. "I'll write my number down so you can call me if anything happens. Then I'll get you the wheelchair."
"I'll just carry her, and if anything goes wrong we will call her physical therapist." I gently lift Jas up. I press a light kiss to her forehead, right in front of that nasty nurse. I carry her back to our friends as the nurse scoffs and points her nose up and briskly-but angrily- walks away. I glance around at our friends. Lillian and Thayne are awake now. I sit down on a chair, still holding Jasmine close to me.
"So, did everything go okay?" Lin asks.
"Surgery wise, yes. Nurse wise, no." I reply.
"Were you with that flirty nurse?" He asks. I nod.
"We go in there, and she starts to tell me that Jas shouldn't move her leg at all for two days."
"Is that even possible?" Thayne asks. I shake my head.
"That's what I was thinking too. Then she proceeded to tell me information I already knew, like her having to be off work. What she said next made me so angry, I was about to punch the nurse. She goes: 'she's going to be quite a burden.' I asked her if she had just called Jas a burden and she was like: 'Yeah. It's the truth. She's going to need a lot of help and it's going to be a burden.' So I got angry. In my head I was like: did you just call my baby girl a burden?? Seriously though. I was so angry. Then this nurse states that she is weak and will be annoying, and that I should just leave her. I was gonna snap her neck. Jasmine is the strongest person I know, and she will never be a burden to me. Then she's like: 'I'll write my number down so you can call me if anything happens.' I was like, heck no woman! I told her that I was gonna pick Jas up and call her physical therapist if anything went wrong. I kissed Jas right in front of her. Then I just walked out."
