Aaliyah
Cleaning the china in the prince's room, I wonder why I've never seen his face before. It's like he's always hiding from me. I let the dirty towel dry after rinsing it with cold water repeatedly. "Agh, my back hurts," I complain. I think to myself that it's better I don't come face to face with him. I can finish my duties on time before he comes to rest.
I catch the sunrays at the balcony where I left his laundry. the sun held a power over me. Today it was brighter than ever like it was calling to me. i shield a hand over my forehead. I feel like as if I could catch the ball of light and occupy its warmth. The feeling lingers as it spreads like fire inside of me. It's wrapping around me dancing its flames tickling me. It feels like memories of home. I could taste it strangle it make it mine -
"Anastasia!" A voice disturbs my thoughts. My eyes set on a wide eyed stranger. Someone very familiar like I've seen just yesterday...
I blink a few times and recognize his face...it's that mysterious guy. "I'm sorry," he pauses and shuts his eyes and creases form in the corners, "I -I don't know your name, I must be mistaken." He releases his breath and looks baffled when he opens his eyes again, kind of like he stumbled into something he wasn't supposed to see.
"Oh," I rub my neck in awkwardness. "You were close, it's Aaliyah...who you bumped into from yesterday?" I felt a confusing trickle of disappointment settle in my chest.
"I just have a question...what were you doing just then?" ignoring my comment as he demands without care. His voice had a pulling quality. I wanted to move a bit closer.
"I -I ahh, I was putting up the wet laundry...for my prince." I blink but then I lightbulb flickers in my brain. "You wouldn't be the prince perhaps? Would you? Oh, forgive my manners." I bow my head slightly upset that I was blushing with my eyes trailing my feet.
"No, I'm not the Prince of this Room..." He falters but his very presence stood still awaiting my answer. It was doing strange things to my chest. I wanted to berate myself.
"You know..." He looks intensely at me. He was clenching his teeth, I could see the hard outline of his jaw shift to one angle. Was I hallucinating? "It looked like you were concentrating very hard at something."
"Um," I clear my throat. "I might have been daydreaming? I tend to that...sometimes." I honestly don't know what he expected me to say.
He scrunches his forehead and then he shakes his head, "nevermind..." He faces me again startling me with his almost cold but dark green eyes. "You are very curious indeed." He smiles a bit cruelly, one side of his lips turning upwards. There were shadows reflecting in his eyes and my heart skips a beat at the danger. He had a compelling presence that my heart could not resist. I wanted to shove away my daring thoughts. Yesterday he was kind today he pulled an attitude. I don't play with hot and cold.
I resume drying the clothes on the rack. I feel his eyes following me, an intense glare that I can't get rid of. A shiver sweeps over my spine. I look over to where he was thinking he had left, but he stands still with a curious expression on his face but it goes away immediately as I glance at him. Those green eyes look conflicted for a moment and I wonder why it passed over his face. He tells me, "I 'll see you at supper," not waiting for my reply he shuts the door. What a strange character!

She doesn't even know what she's capable of! In broad daylight of all times! I shuffle on my feet storming across the room it. Damn it! I pull my short hair in agitation. Clutching my face with both hands, I think of how reckless and careless she had been. She could ruin us.
Yes, she had no training so she wouldn't be able to control it, but she had to know, even the darndest slightly, that she had the gift.
Who would be so daft to overlook the signs? No, she probably thought it wasn't real. What she was doing... may not be real to her. She would need to embrace it first and see it as how it is.
