"We have to recruit her?!" I asked the others in disbelief.
"Unfortunately, yes." Rose replied in her emotionless, monotone voice, "And she won't even be the hardest one."
"The question is, how are we going to convince her to not kill us for talking to her, let alone recruit her?" Parker asked, frantically.
"Well, I have a few strategies." Piper volunteered. "We could try the direct approach, not recommended, where we could just go up to her and ask her. Unfortunately, that would result in immense pain and/or death."
"Yeah, how 'bout no." I responded.
"The second option is to challenge her to a fight and if we win she joins us. Again, that might result in immense pain and/or death." Piper continued. "My last option is to rewire her wristband while she sleeps so that it magnetically pulls her by the arm towards my wristband. Of course, if I make the magnetic pull too strong, it could cause her arm to... rip off... possibly."
After she mentioned her last idea, we all stared at her in shock. Well, except Rose.
"We aren't doing the third option." Rose said. "It would be too difficult to sneak into Cabin One's sleeping quarters."
"Well, I guess that leaves the second option." Parker said with zero confidence.
Everyone turned to look at the girl who stared back at us with a glint in her eye that would make anyone shudder- correction: she was staring at me.
"So, who wants to approach her?" Rose asked, almost casually.
"Uh, we don't need to approach her because she's approaching us." Parker observed nervously.
I turned to see for myself, and sure enough, the large girl slowly sauntered over.
"Hey, noob." She sneered, clearly looking at me, "You know, I expected the 'Chosen One' to be a lot stronger the that." She commented mockingly.
"How do you know who I am?" I replied, attempting to keep my voice steady.
"You know, just cause I'm strong doesn't mean I'm stupid." The girl remarked, "Brain and brawn can go together, you know. It was easy to figure it out, really. The smartest and fastest kids in school get together with the daughter of the Headmaster. Rose here looks at this one's wristband and is satisfied when she looks away. You all looked in my direction multiple times which, I'm assuming, means that you want to recruit me next, correct?"
"Yes, Hannah, that's correct." Rose said, "Now, I'm assuming you came here with a proposal?"
"I did." Hannah replied, "I'll join you little... quest if shortie here can prove to me that she deserves to be the chose one, okay?"
"Okay." I answered, "What do I have to do?"
"I dunno." Hannah replied, "I'll figure that part out later." Then, before I could respond, she sauntered away, back to Cabin 1.
