English Lit. was undoubtedly your favorite class. Finding true meaning in The Odyssey, discovering that your lover as actually married to a crazy woman who he locked in his attic, meeting a crazy man who live in the boat house your lover killed his wife in, it's all beautiful in your eyes.

However, not everyone can see the beauty in those words like you can. Some just think it's a class you have to take, a course you have to pass in order to graduate. But you, you saw every book, every chapter, as an undiscovered adventure.

On the other hand, you had the intelligent hard-head Yata Misaki. You and him could go at it for hours upon hours. Everything and anything could be turned into an argument; English was the best topic to get riled up about.

Recently, the class had finished Romeo and Juliet, so Mr. Kusanagi had requested us to go home and write down what we thought about the tale and how we feel about it's portrayal.

The day comes and then goes slowly, as per usual, but it passes none the less. Walking home from school, the red-head's steps in sync with yours, you couldn't help but think of the English assignment.

"The story is bullshit." He didn't look at you when he said it, but you could feel the smirk on his face. "The plot was corny and there's plenty of other writers who have done was better than that shit."

"I agree on the plot full-heartedly, the portrayal of young love was disappointing and rather underwhelming, even though we all knew how the 'great tragedy' was going to end," you stated, pushing hair out your face.

"It doesn't matter wether it was well written or not, if the plot is painful to read then the book is a waste of time. The whole story was based off of 'love at first sight;' however, we both know that's not plausible because you would never be able to love someone you've only seen once."

"That's something I know, but if you consider that in Shakespeare's time, the young ladies usually had a man they were already destined to marry, so love is somewhat of a foreign concept to him. Therefore the plot could be considered somewhat enjoyable if you put it into perspective."

Later

You sat on the steps of your house writing down your ideas and exchanging answers in math, just like any other school day. The two of you asking questions to make sure you were right was a strange sight to the students in your class that passed by, because you two always seemed to go at it during the lecture time.

"Romeo was a fool," he said while writing. "It's almost as if he had completely forgotten about that Rosa-something chick."

"Well you seemed to forget about her just fine. Besides, if you thought you found your soulmate, I'm pretty sure you would forget about me," you said with a sad smile on your face. Even though you two were constantly at each other's necks, you guys considered each other best friends, mainly because you two did everything together, bickering and fighting just being two of the many adventures you both had.

"Wait, what? No! (Y/n), I could never forget about you! You're my best friend. What's that thing you say in Spanish? Tú eres mi familia. Mi corazón es muy orgulloso porque tú eres tan fantástico. I would never leave you behind because, well, because I-I love you, (Y/n). So much. You're my Juliet, so, well, will you let me be your Romeo?"

You stared at him with admiration.

He's so cute I'm gonna pop from excitement!

"If you're my Romeo, then that means you're right," I say, leaning into him.

"Right about what," he asks with a smirk dancing on his face.

"Romeo truly is a fool," you reply, leaning to kiss him, your hand on his cheek, and his fingers lightly touching yours.
