“Austin?” I ask in a whisper as I search around my house. He was here last night and it’s the weekend. He couldn’t have left by now. I hear my brother giggling as I walk down the stairs. One step at a time. He never giggles. He hasn’t sounded this happy since the move.

I turn around the corner as soon as I am off the stairs. My eyes land on Austin tickling my brother Tannor. I can see the smile etched onto Tannor’s face and even one on Austin’s. Tannor didn’t seem very fond of Austin at first. Austin has a bad boy look to him. Even my mom had made a comment about it. She’s been really nice to me recently ever since Austin came into my life.

My dad even seemed opened to me dating Austin when my mom talked to him. Something about Austin really caught my parents’ eyes. I look over into the kitchen, seeing my mom smiling in content at the sight of Austin and Tannor. It was as if we are a family again. We are a good ole fashioned family.

I head over to my mom, raise an eyebrow about the whole Austin and Tannor thing.

“That Austin boy came over this morning barely gifts,” she says as she sets down flowers. “They’re for you,” she continues, sliding over the red roses. I smile at the sight of them. Austin got these for me? I can feel heat rush to my cheeks.

“He’s a good kid,” my mom says, making my eyes look up into hers. I smile at her, nodding my head. If only she knew what he has done. If she knew how horrible he actually could be Austin wouldn’t be allowed in this house.

“I know, mom,” I say, smiling back. I’m glad my parents didn’t really socialize. Parents would probably tell them about the gang that scares kids off and how Austin is known for killing a kid he didn’t kill. I believe Austin when he says he doesn’t, but when I look on the disc things said might be false. It still makes me have goose bumps.

“Sierra…” she says, softly as I admire the roses. I look back up at her once again. She continues, “I’m sorry for being so horrible to you…”

She did really just say that? Did just apologize? I nod my head, and smile a bit. “Its okay mom, we all make mistakes,” I say back before I feel arms wrap around my waist from behind. I know those arms, making me smile even wider.

“Good morning,” he says into my ear. My mom admires our young love before asking, “So are you two dating? A couple?”

Oh geez. The one question we even didn’t have the answer to. Well I didn’t but when Austin spoke I guess he did, “We’re a couple.” We are? Wait, so am I his girlfriend? I feel even more confused by this and I know Austin can tell. I mean we had never talked about it and he just said it. He just put it out there without asking me.

My mom smiles at us before saying, “Austin stay for breakfast! I’m making some waffles! Sierra loves them!” She looks directly at me, looking so happy. I feel Austin give me a tight squeeze around the waist before saying,

“I’d love that, more time with this beautiful girl.”

“Yeah, she’s gorgeous,” My mom then compliments, making me feel all flustered.

“No, I’m not,” I say, laughing lightly as I turn in Austin’s arms to face him. I lean against the counter as he places his hands against it, leaning forward. I move my head a bit so he gives my cheek a kiss. I don’t like showing PDA in front of my mom.

She just laughs at us before going back to the waffles. I look over at Austin, seeing he wants to kiss me. I shake my head no at him, but smirk devilishly. He kisses me anyways, not caring what I think about it. It’s soft, sweet, and quick. It's one of those cute pecks couple give each other.

“Not in the kitchen!” I hear my dad say, making me move my head and look over to see my dad walking down the stairs. My dad hasn’t met Austin yet, only heard a few stories about him from my mom.

Austin immediately stops leaning against in, and I can tell in his eyes he’s scared. It’s actually really cute how he cares about what my dad thinks of him. He turns his back to me to face my dad who was coming over out way. He goes straight to Austin, putting his hand out.

“Hello, you must be Austin my daughter’s boyfriend, correct?” he asks. Never have I heard my dad sound so cool with that word. He hates me having boyfriends, but since my mom loves him he seems to approve.

Austin shakes his hand, and say, “Yes that’s me. You must be Mr. Sparks.” As I observe Austin’s face from the side I can sense his nervousness. He’s nervous? Austin Carter Mahone seems nervous because of my dad. Bad boy Mahone seems scared for his life.  He doesn’t show it to my dad, but I can see it in his eyes.

“Call me Calvin,” he says, grinning at Austin and pulling him in for a bro hug. He pats Austin back, catching Austin by surprise. He then just grins so big as if this is the best day ever. I’m not sure why he seems so happy and excited by me. I mean I should be happy knowing my dad likes him. I just imagine Austin being the kid who doesn’t want the parents to like him.

After that encounter the rest of the morning is peaceful, except for the fact Austin and Tannor have a nerd gun war. Tannor seems to really be open to Austin. Austin seems to love Tannor too. Austin isn’t really open with the word love. I can tell so that’s why I don’t want to tell him I’m in love with him. I feel like I’ll be the one rushing it. He’ll then think I’m too forward. I don’t want to freak him out. Plus, Austin doesn’t seem to want me to meet his mom. I don’t know if that’s bad or good.

“Can Austin come up to my room?” I ask, looking at my mom. She nods her head, trusting me completely about letting a boy into my room. I smile, sliding my hand into Austin’s before heading up the stairs. My dad doesn’t seem to question it either, which is weird. The Jesus Freak doesn’t question letting a boy into my bedroom. He trusts me. He trusts Austin.

I pull Austin into my room, him shutting the door behind us. He immediately pins me against the door. His hands pushing my wrists against it. They are above my head and his face is dangerously close. I can see the smirk etched across it. He’s been holding in this bad boy attitude of him all day. I could feel his hot breath on my lips, making me shiver throughout my body.

“Austin,” I say, looking into his eyes that look light green. He has this whole bad boy attitude, but his eyes look so sweet and innocent as he stares at me. His eyes flicker to my lips, but I slide my wrists out of his grip.

“We should talk,” I say, and he immediately knows what I’m talking about.

He sighs, looking away from me and backing up a bit. He runs his hands through his hair, sighing in frustration. “I’m sorry I should’ve asked you first-“ He starts, but I stop him by pressing my lips to his.

“Do you want to be a couple?” I ask him, as he placing his hand on my cheek. He sighs as he looks down. So I know the answer now. It’s no.

Oh.” I say, but he buts in,

“I want you to meet my mom first, Sierra.”
