violet sat bored in her last class, tapping her pencil against the desk a few times before the bell rang, meaning she could go home.

with a few more chants from the teacher, she packed her things and shoved them into her bag. she slung her blue bookbag onto her back, walking to her locker. violet grabbed her skateboard, slammed her locker and took off on the board outside the school.

she skated outside, pushing herself faster every now and then to keep going until she reached her brothers car. she kicked up the board, pushing it under her arm.

"you're late again," he lowly barked.

"yeah, i had to get catch-up homework--" she replied, getting cut off by him.

"jesus, i don't care. you're late again, and you're skating home. do you hear me?" he glanced back at me. she rolled her eyes and slid herself into the passenger seat, closing his door.

jonas and violet never got along. the main first years of her life, it was just her and her mom. but around a few months ago, jonas and his dad moved in after violet's mother met him at some coffee shop.

she hated them. ever since then, her mom has never been home, always off with jonas's dad somewhere or working. so it was always jonas and violet at home alone, until he goes off to get with some girls. he was always rude to her for no reason. she didn't think there would actually come a time that he would actually be nice to her.

"i hate it here," jonas mumbled to himself, though it caught her attention.

"it isn't that bad."

"so you like it here?"

"that's not what i said."

"then why are you defending it?" jonas wondered, looking over at the much younger girl.

she shook her head and looked outside the window, sighing quietly at the boring view. that was, before she spotted three familiar boys in ghostbuster outfits biking home in front of them.

"jonas, slow down," the blonde girl said, gulping and sitting up in her seat.

"oh, these your new friends?" he asked, looking at violet and raising an eyebrow in curiosity.

"no! i don't know them. just slow down."

"i guess you won't care if i hit 'em, then? i get bonus points, i get 'em all in one go?"

"no, jonas, stop. it's not funny." she swiftly spun her head towards him, giving a pleading face.

he looked at her, tapping the wheel to the music that played. he wasn't joking. she shook her head while he gave her a serious look. he sped up and she almost began yelling immediately, "jonas, come on, stop it! it's not funny! jonas!"

after a few more screams of panic, she grabbed the wheel, drifting the car and just barely dodging the boys while they roll into the grass last minute. she let go of the wheel as the car kept straight onto the road, falling back into her seat, releasing a large breath she didn't realize she was holding.

"haha! that was a close one, wasn't it, vi?" he laughed maniacally, continuing to tap and head bob to the music.

she swallowed some of the anxiety, giving him a shallow look. she turned and looked into the back window, seeing them stare at the car as they drove off.

--

that same night, violet did go trick or treating with the party. she carried a small tote bag. she even jumped out in front of the four boys to scare them at the time they were leaving a house. she wore a black outfit and a michael myers mask.
