@ olivia.shinoda01: Nathan,
This morning when I woke up, my partner delivered the news to me that you were no longer here. That you've left us and gone to heaven.
I have so so many memories of sitting on the couch in the apartment and watching you and your older brother Charlie mucking around so many times, but oddly enough - I don't have enough memories. In such a short time, we'd managed to become best friends, like brother and sister, and now you're gone and I'm a sibling down. You couldn't wait to meet the twins, you said. You, Charlie and I could have talked hours on end about them, about how you'd finally become 'Uncle Nathan', about how you'd kill anyone who hurt us, and about how you thought my now-partner would be an absolutely top notch dad.
You didn't deserve to die this way. You deserved to live until you no longer could. I'm still struggling to come to terms with the fact that you chose to end your life. One of the only things I can think about right now is how you were listening to Nobody Can Save Me by Linkin Park when you died, when you witnessed your One More Light. I wish I could've been there with you, to bring you back up. I'm sorry I never returned home to Pasadena. Maybe you'd still be here if I did.
I'm almost at your parents' house now, just coming into Glendale. Rob is driving, and there's no music, no talking - nothing. Just the sound of the road and occasionally my fingernails tapping my phone screen. Charlie is devastated, I could hear him crying over the phone when Rob asked for the address. Your parents are as well. Everyone is. You may have thought no one would care, or even notice; but we all do. We are all impacted and affected by your death. We will never forget you.
From your sister, brother in law and your nephews,
Olivia, Rob, and possibly 'Nathan and Charlie'
xx I miss you 💕💔
