Chapter 4
Lacey's POV
"Girl. You look stunning!" My whole hour of fixing my already perfect best friend was envy filling. I really wish I had blonde hair that was straight like hers. The only thing I like about myself is my tan skin and my bright hazel eyes.
"Well thanks to the 'fashionista' I look 'stunning'," she replied insecurely.
"You don't need makeup to look perfect so shutup," I snapped at her hoping she would think of it as playful, not hurtful.
"Maybe she's born with it." She smiled.
"Maybe it's Maybelline," I finished. What would I do without my bestie?
Emilia's POV
We got to the party and it already reeked of alcohol that I had no interest in whatsoever. Or maybe it smelled of chlorine? Oh! There's a pool. No alcohol. Phew.
"Em. Em Rogers!" I could already tell who this was because I could practically hear the smirk on his face.
"Hola. Dalton Meyers." I said with my best Spanish accent.
"You're looking pretty tonight." He winked.
"Well, if I may say so myself. I guess I could be called 'stunning'."
"Hahahaha. You're so adorable. I think we should hang out. Like starting now." With that, he pulled me through the crowd and me surprisingly wearing a swimsuit was lucky when he threw me into the pool. And then he jumped in too.
"Wow. You're really strong." I said to him, suggesting that I'm fat to him.
"Well your like 2 pounds, so it's pretty easy." He showed his 'guns'. I never noticed how really cute he was even just meeting him today with a long stare down.
"Oh and by the way. You're going down!" He smirked and then dunked me under the water.
Dalton Meyers, this is not over.
