Caitlin walked into Biology with a worried look on her face, 'Why didn't you wait for me?' She asked looking hurt.
'I forgot sorry.' I admitted
'Oh, well don't forget again, okay?' She said.
She sat next to me and as the class filled up I was thankful to see that Connor didn't do Biology. The day passed by quickly, I didn't see Connor again after our English lesson, which I was glad about. At the end of the day I walked outside and waited for my mum to come and pick me up, I knew she would be quite late so I sat on a bench in a grassy area, enjoying the cool breeze. I watched as the school slowly emptied and soon I was the only person around. I stared at the blades of grass, watching them slowly sway in the wind and listening to the singing birds. I was totally absorbed in the peace that I didn't hear the footsteps coming my way, and I didn't see the person sitting down next to me, until I heard a smooth, silky, yet masculine voice, with a subtle, sexy Irish accent.
'Excuse me,' said the voice, 'my name's Connor.'
I jumped, not knowing he was there. Connor? What was he doing here? I thought I was the only one left in school. And why was he talking to me? I looked at him confused and he was looking back. 'I'm Ar-Ara,' I stuttered.
'You're new here,' he stated, 'how was your first day?'
Was he really trying to have a conversation with me? Why? How do I know him? So many questions were running through my head. 'It was interesting,' I answered truthfully. There was a pause as we both stared at the grass. Then, for a reason unknown I suddenly blurted, 'Have you ever been on TV?'
He looked at me with a confused expression, 'No,' he answered 'Why?'
'It's just that I feel like I've seen you somewhere before...' I trailed off. 'Its just you look so familiar.'
His eyes widened for just a second then he went back to an unreadable expression. He laughed, 'Maybe you've seen someone around who looks like me?'
'I guess so.' I answered not convinced. I felt even more determined to find out who the hell this guy was.
'Well, I was wondering, seeing as you're new here, maybe you'd like to be shown around a bit? I'll show you the town and the park which is like the centre for socialising.' He smiled at me. He had a perfect smile, with a perfect set of white sparkling teeth.
My heart pounded, Connor Mcsexypants wanted to show me around the town? 'Of course,' I said quickly, maybe a bit too quickly. He smiled again, looking like he was holding back a laugh.
'Well how about tomorrow after school?' He asked. I smiled at him eagerly as I nodded my head. I heard a car pull up behind us. Connor stood up, 'See you tomorrow.' He smiled. I watched him walk away, then stood up myself and got into the car.
My mum grinned at me as I sat down. 'Who was that handsome young man you were talking to?' She asked me. I just shook my head and ignored her. I told her not to pick me up tomorrow because I was going out and she just grinned more.
The next day I walked into English and as I walked to the back I noticed sitting in the corner was another beautiful boy. He had a similar beauty to Connor. He had jet black hair, but the same piercing blue eyes as Connor. He seemed a bit more rugged though, with stubble. He was staring at me, well more like glaring. When he noticed me looking back his stare got more intense. A chill ran down my spine and I quickly sat down next to Connor.
'Whats wrong?' Connor asked.
'Nothing.' I said hoping he wouldn't see how uncomfortable I was. I looked toward the corner again and noticed he was still staring at me. I looked down at my work and pretended to be fully engaged in it.
'Eli?' The English teacher called out, 'Can you hand out the books?' I didn't look up but I heard the chair in the corner of the room being slowly pushed back. I watched as he handed around the books, seemingly normal until he got to our table. He gave Connor a look of distaste and Connor seemed to be trying to convey something through their eye contact. Eli stood in front of me glaring down. I could tell that he was trying to intimidate me, it was working but I didn't want him to know that. I boldly stared back up at him, narrowing my own eyes. He stood there for a few more seconds then slammed the book down on the desk, but I didn't jump. I continued staring at him, feeling empowered somehow and as I looked into his eyes I noticed them changing from a bright blue to a deep crimson colour. My heart pounded as my blood turned hot, I had never felt like this before. I wasn't angry, nor happy, just completely focused on beating this boy at whatever was happening.
I heard a muffled cough and suddenly Eli's eyes went back to their original colour and he was walking away from me before I knew it. I immediately cooled down and my erratic heartbeat slowed down to its usual rhythm and pace. I looked around wandering what on earth had just happened. No one seemed to have noticed except for Connor, who was staring at Eli's back in anger. He then looked at me, with a amazed look on his face. I had no idea what had just happened but I decided to just shrug so Connor didn't think anything too serious. I looked back down at my work and when I picked up my pen I dropped it in shock.
My skin was translucent, I could faintly see my blood pumping through my hand and my blood seemed to be glittering, it was fascinating and strangely beautiful. I stared at it as it slowly faded away back to its usual colour. I looked back at Connor, he looked slightly awed and he quickly looked away when he saw me looking. After I had completely calmed down I felt sick, sick with panic. What had just happened? What was happening to me? As soon as the lesson ended I ran straight to the toilets and threw up everything until my stomach was completely empty.
