Chapter 8

The next day...

Tate POV

Riker and I went to the police station today and filed a report against my ex. It went completely fine. And they said they were issuing a restraining order against him, so I wouldn't have to worry anymore. Hopefully.

So... Now we just have to deal with the problem of being stuck together with handcuffs.

Riker said his dad might be able to help. So right now, we were sitting in Riker's garage while his dad was using different tools, trying to get the handcuffs off.

"So you couldn't find the key?" His dad asked.

"Rocky said he looked, and so did Ross. We even ordered another magic kit, but the key didn't work. Rocky said he called the company, but they just told him to call a locksmith. So... either you can help, or we'll have to find a locksmith."

"I see... Well... I think we might have to cut them off. So first I'm going to cut the chain so you guys aren't stuck together anymore, and then I'm going to have to cut them off your wrists."

"Is it going to hurt?" I asked.

"No. I'll be super careful."

His dad cut the chain, and we were finally separated from each other. I was really scared for the next part. He was going to be using a mini saw.

Riker let me sit on his lap, and he wouldn't let me watch what was going on with my wrist. And before I knew it, my wrist was completely free!

Riker got his cut off too without any problems.

"Thanks, dad."

"You're welcome."

Riker took my hand, and we went to his living room. I cuddled into his side. It's almost like nothing's changed, even though we're not stuck together anymore.

"What do you want to do? We're unstuck now," Riker said.

"I don't know. I mean... we already sort of figured out how to exist stuck together. I mean, we even figured out how to shower. There's nothing we really need to do."

"True... So um... Are you going to go home tonight then?"

"Uh... Well... I was actually wondering if you could come over and spend the night with me. Just in case my ex tries anything."

"Well... I'm sure he won't. You have a restraining order against him. But of course I'll stay the night with you."

"Thanks."

"Do you want me to pack some clothes, and we can go now?"

"Yeah."

"Come with me?"

"Why?" I asked, laughing a little.

"To keep me company," Riker whined.

"Fine, whatever you goof."

"Why am I a goof?"

"We've been stuck together for days, and you want me to come keep you company."

"I like being around you! Is there something so wrong about that?"

"You're just funny."

We went up to Riker's room, and I kept him company while he packed.

Later...

Riker POV

Everything was going fine at Tate's. Her ex wasn't here, so he's obeying the restraining order and the new locks I put on are working too.

It was nice to be with Tate, but not handcuffed to her. I mean, it was just nice to be able to do things alone, such as go to the bathroom and get things for myself without having to drag Tate along.

"Riker?"

"What?"

I put my arm around her, and she cuddled into my side. We were cuddling in her bed together.

"Now that we're not stuck together, are you still going to come over and hang out and stuff?"

"Of course. Why wouldn't I?"

"I don't know... I just wanted to make sure you weren't going to leave me or anything."

"No. Of course not."

I wrapped both my arms around her tightly.

"I'm not leaving you. Maybe we're not going to do absolutely everything together, but I love you, and I still want to be with you."

"Aw, I love you too, Riker."

"Let's get some sleep. I'm super sleepy," I said, getting comfortable.

"Alright. Night, Riker."

"Night. Love you."

"Love you, too."

The end.

A/N : I never intended for this story to be so short. But I never really plan how my stories will end, so sometimes they just end without me really planning it. So... I think this was my last current book, so I'm starting 2 new ones very soon, hopefully before 2018. One will be called "The New Neighbors" and the other will be called "My Protector" and they're both about Riker of course. It's funny because they're kind of opposites. Riker is a "protector" in one, and then in the other, he's very vulnerable. Thanks for reading, and I hope you'll read my new books when they come out. ~Kylie
