The long hand hasn't moved for the last five minutes Taehyung has spent staring at it.

"--And so I've decided there will be a project within different areas of the curriculum," Mrs Park carries on, clasping her hands together excitedly.

Taehyung tries to pay attention. He really does. But his mind somehow always wanders into a blankness -- A blankness like this where his eyes stare at the clock without actually seeing it. Subconsciously bobbing his leg up and down under the desk. Tapping the wooden surface with his slender fingers. Moving back and forth in his chair because it bruises his spine and it's really damn uncomfortable.

No wonder the desk beside him is empty.

A deep sigh escapes his mouth when he looks out of the window. The raindrops softly hit the fragile glass. The green leaves sway in the wind, dancing happily as a sign of spring. His eyes move back to the empty chair and then to the students scattered across the room.

He doesn't blame them.

He wouldn't sit beside himself either.

"Oh, and one more thing!" Taehyung's head snaps up at the sudden tone of his teacher. She smiles at her class, a real genuine smile that blots her perfect white teeth,

"I almost forgot to tell you. We are lucky to get a new student soon. I haven't really received much information yet, other than that I'll be meeting with him once this class ends."

As if on cue, the bell rings, signalizing the start of lunchtime.

The girl who sits in front of Taehyung, a girl with a frame so petite that it makes him boil with jealousy, turns to her friend,

"I hope he's handsome," she says dreamingly, to which the other girl nods enthusiastically,

"He must be. I heard he's from Busan. They're always so manly and muscular," she answers, and Tae swears her eyes move to him for less than a millisecond, and not in a friendly way.

"Let's go eat," the petite girl says and grabs her friend by the hand. They both get up to leave, their loud and pitchy voices still ringing in Tae's ears. "I wonder what's for lunch," he can hear one of them say.

Sighing once more, he collects his books and throws his backpack over the shoulder before he too walks out of the classroom.

I wonder how I'll avoid it.
