Once we got to the fair, Dustin's mom dropped us off right in front of the ticket booth and we all jumped in line for our tickets. El forgot about her money so, as the gentleman I am, I paid for all 17 of her tickets. After we paid for the tickets, we all headed over to the tilt-a-whirl. As we were heading on, I noticed that Will looked upset, so I offered to sit by him and he perked up a bit after that. El, dusty, and Lucas were in one cart and Will and I were in another. It was kinda awkward since Will was squished up against me the whole time and kinda sorta cuddling me in a way ,but a part of me found it cute. After the tilt-a-whirl we all decided to grab some food, we got popcorn and ice cream, El had never had popcorn before so the guys were jokingly feeding it to her like a baby. But then out of nowhere..........WILL SMASHED HIS ICE CREAM ONTO MY FACE! Every one of the guys (even El) were dying of laughter. I could tell Will was begging for it so I smashed mine right back into his face then before we knew it, everyone was smashing ice cream into everyone's face. After the food, we went onto plenty of other rides and I won El a GIANT purple stuffed panda because I knocked down 12 clowns with a bunch of baseballs and I won Will a goldfish because if you haven't heard I am the Hawkins County Fair fish pong champion, not trying to brag though. We also rode the teacups and Lucas threw up all of that ice cream that El shoved into his face. But to top the night off, we rode the Ferris wheel, Lucas got picked up early because he threw up and his sister needed to go to the hospital, Dustin rode with Max who we bumped into at the ice cream shop, Will rode with Stacey Lincoln ,and I rode with El. Once we hopped in I asked El if I could ask her something very important. "Yes mike."She said. "Do you know what love is?" I asked. "no." She replied. "well, it's when 2 people share like a special connection with each other and they care about each other like family."I told her. "I.....love....y-you."she said softly. "I love you more , El." Then before I knew it, she pushed her lips against mine and held my face as we kissed at the top of the Ferris wheel. "friends don't lie about love."she whispered. "No,no they don't ,El."I said.
The Fair pt2 chapter 3 (POV Will):
As I was in the car I was waiting in the car I was hoping that Mike would sit by me but as always , he wanted to be around Eleven so that was a slim chance. I've liked mike for about 3 years now and Im gay. I'm not open yet though, but everyone calls me a fag at school so they pretty much already assume that I'm gay. I know that Mike likes girls but I've never stopped crushing on him. He's always there for me and I...just wish that we could be more than...just friends. It's also pretty obvious that I'm jealous of Eleven. She's not even that great. Mikes practically dating her and I'm so sick of it. During the car ride I catch mike and Eleven cuddling out of the corner of my eye and I think Mike saw me do that so I just sat there silently crying the rest of the way there. When we got onto the tilt-a-whirl I was still pretty sad about what happened in the car and mike saw me so he asked if he could sit with me so then I perked up and got my cuddle fix with him. After that we ate and while the guys were occupied with Eleven , I knew that it was my chance to flirt with Mike so I shoved ice cream onto his cute handsome face. And I knew it was working when he shoved some back. Mike also won me a goldfish and I named it byler since it reminded my of mike and I. The worst part of the night was the Ferris wheel. We saw Stacey Lincoln there and she asked me if I wanted to ride with her and mike was like "Ohh dude nows your chance, you've liked her for a while right." In my head I was like "no, I've liked YOU for a while because I'm GAY" but I knew if I said that , my heart would shatter because I can't risk what we already have. But I went in line to go on with Stacey anyway and as I was watching mike and Eleven from below, I saw eleven go in and kiss mike. I couldn't believe it. I was so upset that I told Stacey I had to go to the bathroom but I just called my mom at the telephone booth and told her to pick me up a block away because I wasn't feeling good. It wasn't a lie either, I was sick to my stomach at what I just witnessed, it reminded me of the upside down.
