you pick up your phone and unlock it so you can message your friend and tell them to stop messaging you. however, you already feel exhausted from the assignment and decide to take a short break.

you save your essay and turn your laptop off, deciding to leave the assignment for a few days. as you think about the message you sent bill, your cheeks redden.
you pick up your phone, wanting to delete the dms between you and bill as you don't want to see your embarrassing message every time you use instagram. shaking your head at the thought, you put it aside and decide to read a book instead.
a few hours pass by and you get ready for bed. once you're ready, you jump in bed and check all of your social media before you go to sleep. as you open instagram, your phone vibrates and you see that you have a new instagram dm.
"this can't be real," you think to yourself. it appears that bill has actually replied to your message. as you tap on the conversation, your fingers begin to tremble and you quickly throw your phone on the bed.
"holy shit, he actually read the message," you whisper, running your fingers through your hair. to prepare yourself, you take a deep breath and pick up your phone.
