Chapter 2: How do I avenge you?

"I lost my baby didn't I?" said Jillian

"Yes but don't worry I will avenge you, I am going to play with the player"

It had been two weeks since Jillian had been discharged from the hospital. MEredith would come home every night to find her weeping. It angered her to no end. She wanted to find Jason and tear him apart. She wanted to to tie him up and torture him till he begged for mercy. She wanted him to suffer as  he had made Jillian suffer. Her friend used to be a bubbly and happy girl but now she had turned into a corpse. 

She only spoke when spoken to. She never smiled these days, everymorning Meredith had to lock every possible object that Jillian could harm herself with before going to work. Jillian now had to go in for therapy 3 days a week. According to her doctor she had been making very little progress.

"Jill! I bought your favorite banana strawberry ice cream!"

Jillian barely looked away from the window she had been staring at. Meredith fought back the tears that threatened to spill over. 

"Well never mind we will eat it later!"

Meredith went into her room but left the door open so that she could watch over Jillian. She switched on her laptop and logged into her facebook account. She then went and typed Joshua Cullen in the search box. She frowned as quiet a few people popped up. She kept scrolling and then came across who she was looking for.

She then went into his profile page and checked his details. Her mouth dropped open as she looked at his profile picture. He was drop dead gorgeous! It was all she could do from drooling at him. 

"Its always the good looking ones" she muttered.

She glanced up to see that Jillian hadn't moved from her place. What confirmed her belief that she had found the right Joshua was under work experience it said that he owned his own fishery company and had quiet a few restaurants one of which even had a Michelin star. Despite herself Meredith found herself being impressed. She memorised his office address and quickly shut the laptop.

She then went into the kitchen and made some salsa dip with the nachos she had bought from the store and quickly whipped a Hawaiian chicken salad. 

She entered her living room to see that Jillian was still sitting in front of the window.

"Jill come on I made us some dinner"

Jillian just sat there and stared ahead.

"Jill!" 

Suddenly Jillian looked up and her eyes were shining with tears.

"Why did he do that Mer?"

"What do you mean?"

"Am I not good enough?"

"Don't be ridiculous! You know perfectly well you are a catch"

"Then why did he dump me?"

"I don't know but I intend to make him pay"

"How are you going to do that?"

"I am trying to figure that out"

"Mer will you do me a favor?"

"Anything"

"Make him hurt"

"I will!" said Meredith smiling.

"Now what the hell were you thinking trying to hurt yourself?"

Jillian looked down and said, "I am sorry"

"I was so scared Jill! What if anything had happened to you?"

"I am really sorry Meredith!"

"No sorry doesn't begin to cover it, I had never pinned you down for a weak person Jillian"

"I am not weak!"

"Ha! Trying to kill yourself for a guy? Becoming a corpse? Not eating not smiling not talking! All of it tells me that yo are weak"

"I am not!"

"Then prove it! I don't want you moping around for that man. Get yourself together he is not worth the pain you are going through can't you see that?"

"Yes you are right, you are right Mer it only hurts because I thought he was the one. I thought he was going to ask me to marry him"

"What?"

"Yes, I did see a receipt for a ring"

"Oh, look I know it hurts. Breaking up always does but deal with it like a normal girl. Bitch about him with me, eat loads of ice cream, eat chocolates, throw up!"

Both Jillian and Meredith burst out laughing and Jillian hugged Meredith fiercely. Meredith hugged her back trying but failing miserably not to cry.

"I am sorry Mer, I swear I won't ever do that again"

"Good"

They both sat to eat dinner while Meredith spoke about her annoying boss and Jillian called him several names. As they finished dinner Jillian spoke up,

"How do you plan to take your revenge?"

"Oh I am going to make him fall for me and then dump him"

"But what's the guarantee he will fall for you?"

"Jillian Rogers! You under estimate your friend's charm!"

Jillian giggled and said, "sorry! but seriously that man has his pick of women he can have whoever he wants" 

"True, look I am not saying its going to be easy but you gotta believe. I think I can do this that is why I am going to and I will succeed and when I am done with him he is going to be so sorry" smiled Meredith.

A month had flown by and Meredith had yet to figure out a way to avenge Jillian. She had driven by Joshua's office a lot of times gathering the courage to go up to him but what would she do even if she did come face to face with him?

One day she decided she would improvise after meeting Joshua so she just walked up to the receptionist only to be told that Joshua had not returned from his vacation yet.  Meredith looked around the swanky office and decided Joshua had good taste. She then turned around and 'accidentally' dropped a crystal vase that was kept on the receptionist's table.

"Oh my God" said Meredith worry creasing her features, "I am so sorry!"

"That's alright" said the receptionist, "we will clear it up and if you leave your name I could perhaps ask Mr. Cullen to get back to you?"

"Oh no problem I will call him up myself"

She smiled and left, somehow dropping that vase had given her a small amount of satisfaction. Of course she would have been happier if she could have just thrown it at the owner's face but she would just have to make do with the vase now.

The sweet plump receptionist was not what she had been expecting to see in Joshua's office. She had expected a leggy blond in tiny clothes. Stereotypical much? she asked herself. After that day however she decided she would let a few more weeks go before she would go to his office again.

This morning Meredith was driving to work, today if her boss tried anything funny she was gpoing to snapo his head off. She had had enough and she was getting frustrated that she couldn't put her plan into action.

However when Meredith went to work her boss was already in and was deep in conversation with a man. Meredith sat at her desk and as usual went about her work. She ,made herself a cup of coffee and started taking down names for appointments.

Just then the door to the dentist's office opened and her boss came out.

"Meredith!" he said, "meet my very good friend and a really old patient"

Meredith looked up and her heart fell to her toes as her boss said, "Joshua Cullen"
