- Chapter One -
"CUT!" Bryan Linden yells leaving everyone within a five foot radius with a busted ear drum.
"It is too early for this, I need my fucking coffee." She groans rubbing her eyelids looking around before her eyes land on me.
She gives me an expectant look before I realize her comment was directed towards me and I quickly shuffle her way handing her coffee over to her that an intern practically threw at me a couple minutes prior.
"You're a blessing." Bryan comments and I'm not sure whether or not She's talking to me or the coffee. I quickly turn around heading towards the back where all of the assistants and interns awkwardly stood waiting for someone else to bark an order.
Looking down at my tattered clipboard not bothering to look where I'm going I check that things are in place making sure that everything is perfect. The last thing I want to do is disappoint Bryan, she is my idol not only is she one of the few women of color to win multiple academy awards for her producing and directing films but also for her screenwriting which is what I'm studying at UCLA.
"Vee! Did you hear who's coming to set today?" Jack a tall lanky blonde guy that I had met on my first day working for Bryan asked.
"Who?" I ask looking up from my clipboard pushing my brown glasses up my nose.
"Neels Talon." He announces and I frown biting the inside of my cheek nervously out of habit.
"I don't think I want to be here when he comes." I say shaking my head my dark brown hair falling out of my already messy bun.
"Why? I vividly remember you describing how perfect his jawline is a week ago." A new voice pops in and I roll my eyes turning around to see a grinning Keeley holding up a huge takeout bag from In-N-Out her green eyes shining with amusement.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" I grin giving her a side hug.
"Class just finished so I figured I could visit my best friend." She smiles sweetly and I snort sensing her bullshit.
"You found out that Neels is coming on set today didn't you?" I ask and she nods sheepishly and Jack chuckles shaking his head turning around.
"Are you coming?" I ask Jack taking the bag out of Keeley's hands before grabbing a couple of fries and shoving them into my mouth.
"Yeah, give me a second I'll go say we're taking our break now." He calls over his shoulder.
"I forgot I didn't even get to tell you the best part!" Keeley squeals facepalming herself dramatically and I raise my eyebrows.
"What?" I ask suspiciously.
"You haven't checked your phone today have you?" She asks and I shake my head grabbing a couple more fries out of the bag, I usually turn off my phone during work I can't have anything distracting me.
