Jonah's pov.

I was sitting outside leaning my back against the cold house. I pulled out my phone to text Sophia but realized it would be to risque if her mom was here. I was about to put my phone back in my pocket I got a call. I looked at the caller ID, it was Daniel, I answered it.

"Hey Daniel" I said through the phone breathing out, the hot air from my mouth visible in the dark night.

"Yo, where are you bro?" he asked sounding worried. i peeked over the gate to the front yard, seeing if sophia's mom was out there. "i'm at sophia's, we fell asleep watching a movie and someone came in so now i'm standing in her backyard trying to figure out a way to get out"

I heard Daniel sigh, I could tell he wanted to be mad at me for missing half of rehearsal but he wouldn't show it. I knew he was glad I finally met Sophia in person. "Our managers going to be mad so i'll cover for you. i'll tell him you got sick. i'm happy for you bro. now you just gotta find a way out" Daniel said through the phone. i thanked him and we said goodbye. i slid my phone back into my pocket before jumping the fence. i jogged to my car and started it before checking my phone again. i smiled to myself as i read sophia's text.

hey jo, it was just laura after all. you're probably on your way back home but i just wanted to say thanks, you made me feel a million times better.
