"BEN, BEN DON'T GO!" I shouted my fifteen year old self ran out of the burning temple towards my best friend, this shouldn't have happened. I looked back at the temple as it burned to the ground. The only place that I had ever called home.
Did master Skywalker survive?
I shouldn't be thinking about that right now I need to go after Ben.
I ran ahead as I saw him, dressed in his usual black atire. He was running as fast as he could towards what I could only see was a large ship but I couldn't tell what kind of ship it was.
Was he really leaving me behind and saving himself ? NO he wasn't he was clearly being escorted onto the ship with two body guards either side of him, stopping him from escaping.
I watched as Ben got on the ship and he just kept facing forward.
"BEN BEN!" I shouted up at the space ship as it took off leaving me to rot on this practically deserted island. I looked up to the star lit sky and cursed the day that me and Ren were seperated
"I SWEAR BEN I WILL FIND YOU ONE DAY AND NOTHING WILL STOP ME... I will find you I promise Ben"
Present day resistance base ship
"Nina, Nina I'm coming for you. Just hang on and keep waiting for me"
I turned to look at Ben and gently smiled as I wished that my dreamland was real, but Ben had died that day. That's what princess Leia had told me when I had been saved by the resistance after burning myself out using the force to find Ben.
"But you're dead Ben, you've been dead for so long that you should just be a brief memory to me and yet you're here still in my head... haunting me constantly"
Ben visibly winced and looked down towards the black floor.
"You really do believe them, dont you?"
I laughed even though I knew it wasnt important.
"They're the only family I have now... after you died I had nothing for so long I forgot what it was like to feel a part of something... I am nothing anymore with you i was something, I meant something to somebody and here I get that same feeling but I still want and miss you, I just dont feel whole anymore and I dont think I ever will again"
Ben smiled as he sat still opposite me.
"I will keep my promise to you, I will find you one day... my impossible girl"
" captain Togs" I shifted slightly in my warm sheets, hoping to hang on to my dreamland for just a few moments more.
"NINA WAKE UP!" Finn shouted as he pulled my blankets off of me also managing to pull me off the bed with it. I looked up and scowled at him and he just looked away blushing slightly.
"Uhh captain Togs you're needed on the main deck, princess Leia wants to speak with you" I laughed slightly at how professional he was trying to be, after all me an Finn are pretty good friends. He had been the one to find me during a fire after my burn out with the force, I owed Finn my life.
"What's up with you?" I laughed and he sighed signalling something was wrong.
"Look at your arm" he pointed to my left arm and I saw the usual red bloody engravings on my arm. It always happened when I dreamt of Ben. Poor Ben, I wonder what became of that kid. It haunts me. He never leaves me.
"Don't worry it doesn't hurt... It never does I'll just cover it up and head down to the main deck, you go on ahead I'll be there in a minute" I said as I hid my arm from Finn. I knew he hated seeing me like this, the engravings always made him uncomfortable, no matter how much violence he had seen the carvings in my arm just seemed to unsettle him.
"Alright but dont be long, Leia said it was important, something to do with finding a lightsabre" Finn shrugged his shoulders.
"A lightsabre? Maybe it's something to do with Ben?"
Finn sighed as he looked at me woefully, something upsets him when talk about Ben.
"To be honest I dont really know, Leia was vague, anyway I better head back Rey needs me for target practice" I laughed as Finn shut the door on his way out.
I slumped against my bed breathing heavily... My arm felt as though it was on fire. It's never been this painful before It was as if someone was sticking a hot poker straight into my arm.
"Ahh" I moaned as it almost became unbearable to move. The main deck would have to wait.
Finns pov
"Are you going to tell Her?" I asked princess Leia as we went over our plans to destroy the battleships with the bombing team. The first order was getting stronger.
"What do you mean?" She said clearly knowing exactly what I meant. I growled slightly and huffed. Nina thought the world of her supposedly dead friend Ben but what she doesn't know is that he's responsible for killing thousands if not millions of innocent people. Nina had to know before it was too late.
"Finn you need to stay out of this... it's for her own good, if I told her now it would break her she needs time to heal from her past Finn... now is not the right time... don't you remember the day you and Rey found her?" I remembered how weak she had been Han solo had her in the back of his ship, Nina couldn't breath on her own so they had to hook her up to some machine apparently she'd been in a fire or something and tried to save someone. Ninas past apart from that was a complete mystery to us besides her friendship to kylo Ren.
"That child needs-
Leia was cut off as something caused the ship to crash forward. I heard the crumbling of heavey metal as the alarms sounded.
"What was that!?" I shouted as I looked at the screens.
"A star ship has boarded with our own... we didn't even see it coming, it can't be part of the resistance we don't have the advanced cloaking technology."
"Dont tell me its the-
"The first order has just boarded our ship!" Rey came running in with a lightsabre in her hands looking startled.
"Its him, he's found her" princess Leia looked at me gravely.
"What do you mean!?" I looked at her and she looked me dead in the eye.
"Ren he's come to take Nina"
Ninas pov
No matter what I did, the insufferable burning wouldnt stop spreading throughout my body, it was like a virus. I grabbed an ice pack from the fridge and held it to my arm hissing as it turned to water on my arm.
Suddenly the ship jolted and fourced me forwards causing my arm to hit against the side of the small room. The blinding pain almost knocked me out. It was like I had been ripped open completely right though to the bone.
I pushed myself up and grabbed some bandages wrapping them around my arm. The lights in my room flickered on and off as the ship shook once again. Who could have done this? It must be The First Order. It couldnt possibly be anyone else. The attacks have been come increasingly frequent over the past couple of months.
I pulled myself up with my other arm and leaned on the wall to be able to get out of my room. I swung open the door as i grasped my right shoulder.
The corridor was full of manic people carrying bombs and getting ready to fly out and atttack whatever had caused those blows to our base ship.
"Whats happened poe?!" I asked as she rushed towards the main deck.
"Captain Togs... The First order, princess leia says they are searching for something but I dont know what" I nodded and he ran ahead towards the main deck.
I shuffled my way along the wall hoping to make it to the main deck before The first order turned up.
I made it along the corridor and found myself at a seal off point. If what the first order wants is in the main part of the ship then I cant let them get it. I saw finn running from the other side.
"NINA DONT YOU DARE!" he shouted running as fast as he could. I could hear the clattering of heavey boots on the metal floor as I turned, a man in a black mask stood before me.
"NINA GET AWAY FROM HIM HE'S - Finn didnt finish as he was thrown backwards against the wall of the ship and knocked unconscious. I cried out as I slammed the off point door shut as I slumped to the ground. I looked at my arm, blood was flowing freely now. If the first order didnt kill me this wound certainly would.
I looked up only to find that the man in the mask had knelt down beside me. I tried shifting away but I couldn't this man had the force. That meant it could only be one person. Kylo Ren
"This woman is hurt, we'll take her back with us"
