Chapter 7: Mislead

Narrator's POV

Echo flew to the Nemesis as fast as she could and ran inside, looking for Megatron. As expected, she found him talking with Soundwave. "Megatron, something terrible has happened." Echo stated, slowing to a stop.

"What now?" Megatron hissed, rolling his optics.

"Starscream and I were flying through the canyon below us and we were having a conversation and he, he crashed into a rock wall. I thought there was a chance that he could have survived but then he exploded and his helm flew into the air and oh, Megsy it was horrific!" Echo spoke.

"I highly doubt any of that happened, now where is my second in command?" Megatron replied.

"Megsy, please believe me. I didn't do this. Starscream was my best friend on Cybertron, I would never hurt him." Echo pleaded.

Megatron rolled his optics with a sigh and said, "Fine. Lead me there. Soundwave will come as well in case you try anything." Echo wiped some tears from her optics and nodded.

Time Skip

Megatron looked at the crash site in shock. She was telling the truth? "Megsy, dear? Are you alright?" Echo inquired. Megatron turned to her and pointed an accusing digit at the femme.

"You did this to him, didn't you? Drove him to the brink of insanity and forced him to crash to end his misery?" He sneered.

"Megatron, I did nothing of the sort. We spoke about how I would change the positions once the week was over." Echo replied. Megatron suddenly slapped Echo right across the face plate. Instinctively, she transformed her servo into a blaster and blasted at  Megatron. After the shot hit hit shoulder plate, she jumped into the air, performed a somersault, and kicked Megatron in the face plate.

Landing on the ground, she flipped her bangs out of her face plate and hissed, "I would appreciate it if you didn't accuse me of something i did not do."

She transformed and flew to the ship. She transformed and landed on the ship's flight deck. Echo heard metal shifting behind her and turned to see Soundwave. "Sounders, you believe me, don't you?" She asked, walking closer to the mech. Soundwave's tentacles began stretching out towards Echo. "W-What are you doing?" She asked, backing away. One of the tentacles grabbed her servo and she transformed the other into a blade and sliced it. Electricity crackled around it as it retracted back towards Soundwave. He looked at the tentacle then up at Echo. He tilted his helm to the side and walked closer to Echo.

"What are you doing? You left me no other choice." Echo said, taking a few steps back. She had to think of something fast. She bit her lower derma in thought and held up one servo towards him. "Stop!" She exclaimed. Soundwave ceased movement. "You can't harm me." Echo stated, holding a small device. "I can turn every Decepticon against you in a second." Echo stated, her smirk wider than ever. Soundwave had a difficult choice to make. He could either attempt to fight this femme and risk dying by the hands of her drones or let her continue on with whatever horrible plans she has for the Decepticons.

Soundwave's helm tilted downwards, as if he found the ground a lot more interesting. Echo approached Soundwave and lifted his chin with a single digit. "Dearest Soundwave. You know me better than anyone. Know that I am doing this for the greater good of the Decepticon cause." She said with a sincere smile. Soundwave nodded and Echo hugged him tightly. The mech hugged the femme back, unaware of the blade she held behind him. "But just in case you ever decide to betray me..." Echo whispered to Soundwave. She quickly stabbed him in the gut and let him fall to the floor. "Sorry, Soundwave. I love you and you know that, right? But you're too smart, too clever. I need everyone out of my way so I can terminate Megatron without a problem, mkay?" Echo spoke. Soundwave got up and began limping to the flight deck door.

Echo turned and simultaneously threw her blade. The weapon embedded itself into Soundwave's helm and he fell to the ground, lifeless. Echo walked over and pulled the blade from Soundwave's helm. "It's not you, darling, it's me." She stated before putting Soundwave's body over her shoulder plate like a sack of potatoes. She headed inside and snuck through the ship to the bridge. Once there, she placed Soundwave on the ground and put the blade back into his helm. She found a blank data pad and wrote, 'Heard you lost your beast. Hope Soundwave will meet him in the Allspark. -Autobots'. 

Placing it on Soundwave, she left the room and headed towards the flight deck. When Echo heard jet engines outside, she started walking to the bridge. Megatron eventually caught up with her. "Where is Soundwave?" He inquired.

"I thought he was with you?" Echo replied, looking up at Megatron as they got closer and closer to the bridge.

"No, he followed you here." Megatron stated.

"I haven't seen him." Echo shrugged. Megatron opened the door to the bridge and gasped. Echo peeked in and let out a scream of horror. Dashing over to the terminated mech, she cried out his designation.

"Soundwave, please! Wake up!" She pleaded.

Megatron walked over and kneeled down, swiping up the data pad.

"What does it say?" Echo whimpered, wiping a few tears from her optics.

"Autobots..." Megatron growled.

"What? What does it say?" Echo said. Megatron held the data pad out to her and she took it and read it. "The Autobots? Why would they kill Soundwave?" Echo spoke, breaking the data pad in anger.

"Perhaps to get even. Follow me. We have some business to attend to." Megatron said, leaving the room.
