Chapter 10: New Team

Narrator's POV

Knockout woke up the next morning and noticed Echo wasn't there. Then, a knock could be heard on the door. "Come in." Knockout spoke. The door opened and Megatron was on the other side. "Where's Echo? What did you do to her?" Knockout hissed.

"Silence. She left on her own. And I would like you to help me decode the meaning of what she told me before she left." Megatron said. Knockout sighed and crossed his arms.

"Fine. What did she tell you?" He asked.

"She said, 'One day, soon, I will return. I hope a lesson you have learned. With a team under my command, soon you'll know why I'm so mad.'" Megatron told Knockout. The doctor stood and led Megatron out of his berthroom and to the med bay.

"Well, if she left, I have no doubt that she would return. But, my liege, tell me. What lesson do you think she would want you to learn?" Knockout spoke. Megatron shrugged. Knockout face palmed. "Primus, you're clueless as frag, aren't you?" He mumbled. The doctor looked at Megatron and said, "You're ex is gonna come back and kill you unless you apologize for cheating on her and become a better mech. Now get out, please. I'm getting a helmache from your stupidity." Megatron growled at the insult and left the room.

With Echo, she had flown to some random place and contacted the Autobot leader. //Hello, Optimus!// Echo sang through the comm.

//Echo? What do you want?// Optimus replied. His team was just as confused as he was.

//I'll be quick. I need to speak with you. Now. Bring your team if you wish, I promise this is not a trick but do whatever makes you comfortable.// Echo explained. Optimus turned to his team.

"I don't think we should trust her." Arcee stated, crossing her arms.

//Arcee, there is no reason why you shouldn't trust me. I only want to make a deal with the Prime.// Echo spoke.

"What are the details of this deal?" Ratchet inquired.

//That, medic, must be discussed in person.// Echo stated.

"It seems the logical option would be to go." Ultra Magnus spoke. Optimus nodded.

//We are on our way to your coordinates, Echo.// Optimus told the femme.

//Wonderful.// Echo commented.

Time Skip

"Oh my, you all look horrible. Did the drones do that? I'll have to punish them for hurting my new teammates." Echo spoke as the ground bridge behind the Autobots closed.

"New teammates?" Smokescreen inquired.

"Well, yes. Would you like a little history lesson about Megsy and I?" Echo hummed. The Autobots shared a look before nodding in sync. "Megsy and I were sparkmates on Cybertron. He'd always cheat and I'd always tell myself, 'Just give him one more chance.' I was foolish then. Fast forward to my last mission on Cybertron. I had to get some minor information from Jackie here and I got it the best way I knew how. Flirting. Megsy hated that I did this and asked to break up. I was fine with it because of his infidelities. Now, fast forward to the past two or three days. I decided to let Megatron keep his Decepticons. I also decided, " Echo clawed the Decepticon insignia on her chassis, "to join the Autobots."

The Autobots looked at Echo in awe and shock. "How do we know you're not gonna attack us with your drones?" Arcee asked. Echo smirked and threw the button into the air. Arcee instinctively blasted it.

"See? My button's gone. I can't control them anymore." Echo told them. Optimus took a few steps closer to Echo.

"What is it that you wish in return?" He asked.

"Only for revenge against Megatron so that I may take my throne back and end this war." Echo replied.

"As if. You're the original 'Con leader. Sure Megatron started the war but you were the original top 'Con." Bulkhead hissed.

"Yes, I know that. But I also know that people can change. I want this war to be over and I want Megatron to feel the pain I did on Cybertron." Echo said.

::I'm still not convinced.:: Bumblebee stated.

"Did I forget to mention that you're my favorite Autobot, cutie?" Echo smirked.

Bumblebee blushed a light blue and said, ::She's got my vote.:: Arcee rolled her optics.

Optimus looked at Echo and said, "I have always said that everyone deserves the chance to change for the better. Echo, welcome to Team Prime." Echo smiled and saluted Optimus.

//Ratchet, ground bridge.// Optimus said. One opened and the Autobots walked through, Echo following. Ratchet's jaw dropped when he saw the ex-'Con walk through the portal. "Stand down, Ratchet. She is now an Autobot." Optimus stated.

"What?!" Ratchet exclaimed.

"It's true. I want Megsy to pay for how he treated me on Cybertron so I thought, 'Why not do so with his enemies?'" Echo giggled.

"Don't worry, Doc. If Sunshine does go rogue, we'll take her down easily." Wheeljack said, lazily slinging his arm around Echo's shoulder plates. Ratchet sighed.

"Fine." He said and walked off.

"I am sure you know the Cybertronian members of Team Prime." Optimus Prime stated.

"What do you mean?" Echo asked. "Hey! Who's the new girl?" A female voice snapped. Echo turned to see a human girl on a platform.

"Oh, hello there, little one." Echo greeted with a smile. She held her servo out to the human and she hopped on. "What is your designation, human?" Echo inquired.

"The name's Miko. You are?" The girl replied.

"My name is Echo. Nice to meet you, Miko. I suppose this is what Optimus meant." Echo spoke.

"Where are Rafael and Jack?" Optimus asked.

"Playing video games." Miko answered, pointing to where the human males were.

"So what are we going to do first, new team?" Echo asked, putting Miko onto her shoulder.

"Doc can show us his project. Is it done yet?" Wheeljack said. Ratchet nodded and tossed a small device (it kind of looks like the phase shifter) to everyone.

"Old friend, don't you want one?" Optimus spoke.

"I've tested it already and I don't want to experience that again." Ratchet replied, shuddering.

The first Cybertronian to try the device was Bulkhead. He transformed and his driver side door opened. Out stepped a man that looked like it would be Bulkhead. "Bulk?" Miko asked.

The man looked at his hands and said, "I guess so." Miko tackled him into a hug and the other Autobots tried the devices out for themselves. Echo looked up at Wheeljack.

"I'll never get to be tall, will I?" She muttered. Wheeljack chuckled at the pouting female. "It's not funny, Jackie." Echo hissed.

Wheeljack stopped laughing and said, "You're right, you're right....

It's hilarious."

"Wheeljack!" Echo snapped. The Autobots shared a laugh as Echo chased Wheeljack around the base, occasionally throwing one of Ratchet's wrenches at the poor guy.
