Alyssa's POV:

After listening to Brooke and Stephanie sing the first line, I semi knew what I had to do. On the last note, that high E, I let my voice soar as high as it could. After holding it for 1 beat, my voice cracked and everyone stared. I looked down, feeling so ashamed. I knew this would happen, people would hate me. Mrs. Tess just walked over to me and said that I should just take that note as high as I can and it's ok since this was a change for me.

.*.*.*.*.*| Later that Day|*.*.*.*.*.

I hopped off the bus with a mix of feelings. Normally I would write about 2 sentences about something I learned everyday, keeping myself positive. But today was different, it's not that I didn't learn anything, I learned A LOT. I just didn't feel like I wanted to write anymore, I lost my drive to do it. I felt like I put so much more singing today, that writing didn't even matter. Maybe singing is my new passion. I walked to my room and plugged in my headphones and laid down listening to 'Defying Gravity' from 'Wicked', we did that as play in school and I loved the music. Instead of just listening to it, I sang along hitting every note. I heard footsteps in the hallway, my little sister Brittany who is 7 walked in. "how was school?", I asked as she ran over to me. "good", she said happily. "Alyssa!", my mom called. "yea?". "How was school she said giving me a small hug. "good. I'm going to be in 1st soprano for choir, made a couple of friends...." I trailed off. "I want to ask you something", my mom turned to me. "Ok". "Well, my choir teacher, Mrs. Tess says I have an amazing voice. So I was wondering if maybe I could take voice lessons, outside of school?" "I thought you wanted to be a writer?" "I just don't have the passion for it anymore." I said tapping my fingers against the glass desk. "If that's what you think is best, than, I guess we could make that happen." I smiled, and hugged my mom again. "thanks!" I said letting go of her. "Can we go swimming?" Brittany called. Since we lived in Florida, it was nice and warm outside. "Yes." my mom replied. So I ran to get my bathing suit and so did Brittany. I quickly changed into my light blue bikini and ran to the closest, grabbing two towels. I pulled open the sliding glass door, flopped the towels on a chair, and ran, cannon balling into the pool. "Brittany!" I yelled as she ran outside, almost hitting me when she jumped in. A lot of people don't like having siblings, but other than my mom she was all I had. My dad died when I was 7, Brittany was only 1. "Part of that world!" I sang after coming up from diving into the water. I found a new passion, singing.
