Alyssa's POV:
I hop off the bus from a long day a school, more homework. Have you ever had a passion and then realized you just wanted to give up? That's how I feel right now. I used to be the girl who loved writing, now, I'm not so sure.

My mom wanted me to try something new for going into 8th grade, and at a new school. So I tried out for choir. The music teacher, Mrs. Tess said that I had an amazing voice and asked where I had taken voice lessons. "um... myself? I've never taken voice lessons. I've seen some musicals at my old school but was never in choir. I guess I just picked up what they were doing." "Well, your voice is outstanding for never being taught anything. With a little bit of work, I'll be able to put you in 1st soprano." I smiled a bit to widely, even though it's probably not that big a deal. I was so nervous that I wouldn't fit in here but all of that just slipped away when she said that. I had come early to choir to see if I would be accepted or where I would be placed. She staggered us from lowest voices on the left and highest on the right, then by height. I was on the second row after everyone had been placed and more towards the right. "Alyssa, please step forward", Mrs. Tess called to me. I stood up and walked to the front of the room. "You may be wondering who this new student we have in our choir is. This is Alyssa Jones, who will be entering 1st soprano in about a week. Stephanie and Brooke are the only other girls in 1st soprano right now. You can go sit with them." she directed to the bottom row next to the girl with brown hair and brown eyes. She gave an inviting smile and introduced herself. "I'm Stephanie" she grinned. "and I'm Brooke" said the girl with dirty blond hair and brown eyes, also smiling. I sat down as she handed out what we would be singing. she gave me a 1st soprano part and I stared at the notes not knowing what to do. The highest one was some kind of E. I leaned over to Stephanie, "How does this work?". She giggled, "what do you mean?". "I've never taken voice lessons",I whispered. Both girls stared in shock at my statement. Maybe this is not what I thought it was.
