Brooke's POV:
The time comes that we get to find out what show we're seeing, so we all sit on the edge of our seats anxiously waiting for Phantom to be called. "How long is this gonna take?" Stephanie asked in an impatient voice. "They have to double check everything." Alyssa told Steph. "drumroll please." Mrs. Tess called to everyone. We all smiled and patted our legs. "And the winner is, with over half the votes.................................... Phantom of the Opera." we all hugged each other and squealed about how we're going to meet the cast. "We have seats for all of you to choose where you want to sit. If you want to be closer you have to pay extra for your ticket. What we have comes with your trip fee." Mrs. Tess informed us. I looked over at the rest of the girls and apparently they had the same idea. "We're gonna get the closest seats and sit together and sing along!" Alyssa screeched. "We also have a workshop to go to with a special guest! The guest will be kept a secret, don't ask." she said, making us all pout.

"Mom!" I ran up to her as she hugged me. "Yes?" "We're going to Phantom of the Opera in New York and the girls and I want to sit closer. "How much extra will it cost?" "Ninety dollars." I said hopefully. "That's doable, we just have to make sure you all get together." "Thank you!" I hugged her. "Do you have homework?" she asked as I took some books out of my bag. "yes" I sulked grabbing my math, and science worksheets. "ok" she walked towards the kitchen. I walked up stairs into my room, putting my stuff on my desk.

I had my duffle packed and my carry-on in hand. My mom and I were currently heading out the door on the way to the airport. She wasn't coming, neither were Brooke's parents, but Stephanie said her mom was coming. "Tickets?" she asked. "all three!" I said, one for the flight, another for the workshop, and lastly the one for upgraded Phantom seats with the girls. "phone?" "yep!" "journal?" "fine" I slouched and ran to my room to get it. "writing is boring" I said putting it in my carry-on. "I just want you to keep writing, your so good at it. I don't want you to loose that." she said putting a hand on my shoulder. "ok." I replied "I'll write, but not a lot, I'm only gone for three days. Plus, I'm gonna be pretty busy." I said as I got a pencil off the counter. "alright, time to go." she opened the door.
Brittany slept over at a friends house who would take her to school so we didn't have to worry about her running around this morning.

I ran up to Brooke and Stephanie who were already there. We hugged and then all sat back down. "We all have the good seats right?" I asked. "Yep" both girls said. After a few minutes had passed we all got up to go through baggage and security. Mrs. Tess double checked that we had everyone who was coming and we started to board the plane. All of us girls got on towards the beginning so we snagged the whole row of seats. I scooted in, Brooke took the middle, and Steph had the isle seat which was right across from her mom.
We talked and joked for about ten minutes until we heard the intercom go off saying to but on our seat belts and turn off all electronic devices. Brooke grabbed her phone and frantically turned it off. "You have time, it's ok." I called to her. "I know." she replied and stared out the window. We started moving and all three of us stared out the window watching the plane lift off of the runway. "this is so cool!" Stephanie exclaimed. "you've never flown before?" Brooke asked. "nope" she said, popping the p. "who else's ears are popping?" I asked. "me" Steph complained. "mine too." Brooke said. "i have gum if you girls want some. I brought extra incase." Stephanie's mom said hand us the gum. "thank you" I replied giving the pack back to her. "I'm Mrs. Smith, Stephanie's mom." she smiled. "I'm Alyssa." I smiled back. "Who wants to play a game?" Brooke asked. "what game?" I inquired. "humming challenge. Broadway edition." she said. "yes!" Stephanie and I both quietly yelled in unison. "ok who wants to go first?" Brooke asked. "what shows can we do?" "Whatever you want" she deviously smiled. "oh great, this is going to be a long flight." I joked
After the challenge was over, which Stephanie won, we rested and listened to music, made phantom jokes. "we will be arriving in New York City in ten minutes." we heard over the intercom. We all glanced out the window, looking for the ground. "Please fasten your seat belts as we prepare to land." The intercom announced. We all squealed looking around at the city blow us. "Its so amazing!" Brooke cheered. "I know!" Steph said. I simply kept watching the cars on the streets and the jungle of concrete that would soon be where we stayed for the next three days. I was determined to make this the best three days of my life. "What do you think Alyssa?" Brooke asked, snapping me out of my trance. "It's just, more than I ever expected."
People say that there's just something about New York City that makes it different from everywhere else. I don't think it's the big things either, like the Statue of Liberty or even Broadway. It was the smaller things, like the energy the people have and the style of life that everyone there lives in. It's truly more than you can imagine.
