It's been officially a year. It's dad's "Deathday" I see it as the evil twin of his Birthday. The irony... He was born on December 1st, 1959, and dead on June 1st, 2017.
The worst part about all of this is that I have to see kids at school have both of their parents bring them home everyday while I walk home with my little brother because my mother has to work late to pay for dad's funeral.
One day as I was walking through a little dark alley (shortcut I found a week ago with my brother), I saw something just outside a closed shop.
It looked like a human, but... I could see through it.
"A ghost?" I thought at first, "No... it can't be! Ghosts aren't real!" I rubbed my eyes with the palm of my hands and, when I opened them again, there was nothing, except the little sign saying
"Mr.Wall's antique shop".My brother looked at me, telling me to hurry up. He had a lot of homework today since he's always finding excuses not to do them until the last second. I walk faster to catch up and try to forget what I just saw.
I had already done half of my homework on Monday and the other half on Tuesday so I had the rest of the week to relax or study harder. Today I chose to eat a bowl of vanilla ice cream and then go run outside to clear my mind from all my problems. The moment I stepped outside, I felt the gentle breeze of summer delicately caress my skin. It was a cold and cloudy evening. I felt the urge to sing the beautiful lullaby my dad sang to me when I was a little kid.
~ Hush little baby~
~Don't worry about me~
~No matter what happens ~
~You know you'll never be lonely ~
~I'll always be here, in your heart ~(Sigh)
"If you only knew how much I miss you" I said to myself"Oh but I do Hanna darling" said a familiar voice behind me.
