I turn around, surprised.
I see a man, dressed in a light gray shirt and jeans with black running shoes. He looked like he was in his 40's,
"Dad?!?"
He smiled for an answer.
"It can't be! Y-you...last year... Mom told me..."
I didn't have the strength to finish my sentence. But he did.
"That I died..." he said with a comforting smile "I did not survive the accident indeed. But you did and that is what counts."
"But then... how are you here?"
He stayed silent for a while, as if wondering how he would answer that.
I was expecting a direct answer like: "I died, then I became a ghost!", but instead I got something like:
"Have you ever wondered what happens when you die?"
"Well...of course I did! Everyone does at least once in their lives."
"Hum..."
Another silent minute. What did he have to think about that much?!
"Well... then you must've come around the ghost theories right?" He said
I look at him, my eyes narrow.
"Seriously?"
"Well... yes." He said, dead serious. "Some people believe in ghosts, others claim to have seen some in real life. Some only see them in movies and some really special people..."
I wait.
"What?" I ask, getting impatient at this new mysterious version of my dad. "Some people what?"
"You are in this category." He sighed. "The people that actually see them, interact with them."
He has got to be kidding me... but at the same time, I am talking to him.
Maybe I just hit my head and this is a dream. Or maybe I'm hallucinating and everyone passing on the street is thinks I'm crazy, talking to myself. They are giving me strange looks.
My dad looks around us. He looks scared of something. Or someone.
"I-I have to go my dear... Sh-She's coming. I'm not supposed to be here!"
Then just like that, he disappeared.
(A/N: sorry for this really short chapter again... I try to update but I don't have a lot of time... sorry again but I hope you enjoy 😘)
