Part twenty one

Betty's pov
I'm not really sure why Veronica wants me to go to Archie's but I'm not complaining! I text my mom, letting her know where I'm going and head over to his house. I knock on the door. There's no answer. Weird. I think to myself. I walk inside. "Archie?" I call out. I start to head up his stairs. "Arch? Where are you?" I reach the top of his stairs and turn into his bedroom. I see Archie lying shirtless on his bed, facing the ceiling. "Hey Archie. How are you feeling?" I ask. He sits up and stares at me completely confused. "Wh-who are you? You don't look like Veronica." He says. "I'm Betty! Your best friend since you were five." I pause, waiting for him to clue in but he still doesn't so I continue. "Your neighbour, *pause* Veronica's best friend." "You know Veronica? She so pretty!" He says in a daze. How can be remember Veronica but not me? "She was just here! Then some big scary man came in and took her! It was crazy!" "Where is she now?" I ask cautiously. "Who?" "Veronica!" I say, frustrated. Just then he starts blinking really fast and looks around confused. "Veronica! We have to go help her! She's in trouble! Why are you here Betty? What is going on?" He says leaping off the bed and running downstairs. "Arch, wait up!"

Veronica's pov
I collapse onto my bed. How could Archie do this? I thought for the first time ever, someone actually cared about how I felt. But he clearly doesn't. And the fact that him and Reggie were joking about me makes it even worse. The tears are spilling down my face like crazy. I run to the bathroom and throw up. I wish Archie was here to hold me. No. No I don't. I deserve someone who truly deeply cares about my feelings.

Archie's pov
I need to help Veronica. I don't know what her dad is capable of. Betty and I get into her dads car and drive over to the pembrooke. I jump out of the car as fast as I can and knock on the door. Her mom opens up the door. "How dare you show up here looking like you are out of a underwear commercial! You best not show your face here again boy! I thought you actually cared about Veronica. I thought you were the one. Boy was I wrong. She deserves someone so much better than you. I hope you are happy about all the pain you are causing her right now." "What are you talking about? Is she okay? I need to see her!" I cry out. "Archie, you best not come back! After what you said about her, you are lucky it wasn't Hiram that opened the door." She starts closing the door. "What are you talking about? What did I do?" I scream out.
