Back from the dark riverside
The black from white returned and dyed
Squeezing cloth, they wept and cried
Back to the path and darker side29
“We’ll venture long, however short
Yet if you want, we will abort.”
But the girl of light is one a sport
“We’ll go, however high the fort.”30
A walk of silence, then some talks
Long way they went, through trees and hawks
Met blackest sheep caught in their flocks
Both had no time regarding clocks31
From far, they saw a lustrous tree
With vines on branches, hanging free
Fairies and wisps, playing with glee
As if the girl was circle’s key32
“Your companion may be resting here,
‘Tis time for us to part, my dear.”
“Thanks for all, through courage and fear.”
Their final words, then they steer clear.
