1:00 p.m.
When the game is over, Jason and I are swept out of the stadium by the rest of the crowd. It's a good thing he was holding my hand because I would've got lost if he wasn't.
"Did you like the game," he asks while we walk to his car. "Yes," I say happily. "I'm glad," he says. We get in the car and he starts it. "So where are we going now," I ask. He just looks at me without answering.
"Another surprise," I ask. "You know it," he says. "Got it," I say with a nod. He smiles and we leave the stadium. We drive for about ten minutes and I look around for any clues as to where we're going.
I see Jason look at me out of the corner of my eye and smile. He mutters something, but I can't hear him. "Jason, did you say something," I ask. "I said, are you having fun looking for clues about where we're going," he says. "Did you really," I ask. "Maybe I did, maybe I didn't," he says.
I laugh and he smiles. "Oh, and Jae," he says. "Hmm," I hum. "We're here," he says after parking. I look out the window and see that we're at the zoo "So you were just trying to distract me," I ask and he shrugs. "I wanted it to stay a surprise," he says," Come on."
He gets out and opens the door for me. "Thanks," I say. "You're welcome," he says. We walk into the zoo and pay for admission. "Where do you want to go first," he asks," There's the reptile house, or the monkeys. . ." "The monkeys," I say," Because you are one."
He glares at me and I smile before running ahead to the monkeys. Just like I thought, he was going to chase me. Luckily I got a head start. Unfortunately, I have to stop soon because I start coughing. I cover my mouth with a napkin and when I take it away, there is a red stain on it.
I guess the doctors were right.
I see Jason catching up to me and throw the napkin away. I use the hand sanitizer that was in my purse and act like nothing happened. "Jaelyn, you made me run during our date," he complains. "Oh, please. You were going to chase me anyways. I just wanted a head start," I say. "Fair enough," he says," Let's go look at the animals."
We walk through the zoo and he wraps his arm around me. We walk through the zoo, first going to the monkey's, then the reptiles followed by the birds. I get excited when I see the giraffes because they're my favorite animal.
"Jason, look," I say when I see a mother giraffe with her baby. Yes, I know, I'm acting like a seven year old. But it's so cute. I go over to the gate and he follows me. "Cute," he says. "Right," I say, still looking at the giraffes. "I was talking about you, silly," he says," You're so clueless sometimes."
I turn to look at him. "Yeah, but I've gotta be doing something right since you've stuck around since we were four," I say. "Of course," he replies,"Wanna go check out the penguins and lions?"
I smiles and nod. He offers me his hand and I gladly take it. I like the way our hands fit together perfectly. We walk around some more until we've seen all of the animals. "We've seen all the animals, so do you want to go," he asks," I have a few more places to take you." "Okay," I answer and we leave the zoo.
