fingertouches... every time, every little second Steve feels it, being touched on his fingers, on his hands. He wants to respond to it, fold his fingers around those fingers that touch him but he can't. Moving is impossible, it's heavy, impossible, like his entire body has locked up and his mind is pushed in a different dimension, separated from his body like he can't do anything.

But, he can't escape, locked inside a body of a shell, impossible to see things, impossible to move, impossible to disappear.

Hearing voices and that annoying beeping noise is all he could register. He knows it's James who's with him. He noticed it.

Suddenly, the touching stops, is it another time his friend broke and disappeared? Steve can't tell, he doesn't hear crying. He doesn't hear anything but that beeping noise that register his heartbeat.

Steve wants to open his eyes, say James name and wait for reactions, but he can't... He's complete hopeless.

"Steve..." James starts quietly.

Steve hears it, the silence broken apart by that cute broken voice from the nerd he loves.

"I got a bill for you staying here... It's a lot of money... I don't know if I can pay that." James says anxious, quietly and sobbing, he wipes his tears away with his long sleeves. Staring at the bill. "I'm scared." James says honestly.

Steve feels triggered, he wants to hug James tight and tell him everything will be okay but he can't.

"I'm... I'm scared that, if I can't pay anymore... they'll pull the plug." James says sobbing, trying to wipe the tears away that float down his cheeks. "I.. I can't have you dying.." His voice raises, containing more and more sobs.

Suddenly Steve feels something harsh and human onto his hip, it's James head, broken into endlessly sobs as the problems only build up more and more.

"James." a lady says. Steve doesn't recognize her.

"Y-yah..." James sobs speaking from the blanket his mouth is resting on while he sobs onto Steve's hip.

"Please... Don't cry onto the patient." the lady says.

Nurse. Steve concludes.

James lifts his head and looks at the nurse standing behind him. "H-how can I .. N-not cry?" he asks complete broken.

Steve's heart breaks.

"What's wrong?" the nurse asks.

"E-everyone I e-ever care a-a-bout is d-de-dying." James sobs.

The nurse goes quiet.

"I.. I can-can't pay the b-bills m-much l-longer..." James continues sobbing. "Y-you'd k-kill Sss-Steve... Pull-pulling t-that th-thread a-and he-he'll d-die.."

The nurse remained quiet. Not knowing what to do with a reaction like this. She's quite new here, she just finished her study and since a week or two she works here, she got to know in the hallways from other nurses and doctors that James refused to leave Steve, that he stays all night and all day. She looks at James who curls up on the chair next the bed, sobbing in his knees. She looks over at Steve who lies peacefully, no single movement aside breathing.

She sighs and puts a hand on James shoulder which is becoming more bony again since he refused to eat all over again. She strokes him, trying to calm him down. "We will try to make him better, I promise." she says eventually.

James nods quietly, blaming himself for everything that happened to Steve, that he didn't look well enough after Steve, that he was too late to stop him from committing suicide. He's blaming himself for putting a droplet in Sacha's cup of chocolate milk making her gain leading to her death.

"Things will be okay." the young lady says.

"It-it'll never b-be." James responds, barely able to hear what he said.

Authors Note:

I might quit the story. I don't think anyone is reading the stuff anymore. I feel like nobody cares anymore. It makes me sad and kinda broken, because I wanted to make book 6 the best book of all...

but sadly, I'm just a puppet on puppet strings who needs people to continue and write a story.

please tell me if you read or anything.. I might just quit it otherwise.
