Starting to fix things

The next thing I know, I woke up in the hospital.

“Oh thank god!” John said as he got up from the chair. He touched my face gently.

“Sweetie. I’m so sorry. I should have been with you at the store. It’s my fault.” I put my finger on his mouth.

“Ssssh.” I said. John nodded.

“They will keep coming at us until one of us is dead or I rejoin them” he said.

“Then teach me. Teach me how to defend myself. All these awesome kicks have been just luck. I need a good teacher. You’re perfect for the job.” I said. John nodded again.

When I was released two months later( two weeks from the hospital the rest from physical therapy), I went straight to John’s place and saw John and some guy standing outside.

“Oh my god!” John shouted when he saw me. He picked me up and twirled me around.

“John!” I said. He set me down and gave me the tightest hug ever.

“I missed you.” I said. My parents didn’t allow John to visit me while I was recovering.

“I missed you too.” John said as he even hugged me tighter.

“As much as I love this, who is that?” I said as I turned to look at the guy. Then he let down his hood.

“Jeremy” I said with a gasp. I ran towards my brother and hugged him. He hugged me as hard as he could.

“I… I don’t…” I said. They laughed.

“I was taken by Watzo so that I could serve him instead of you. When I heard what you went through… I just had to get out.” Jeremy said. I smiled and hugged him tighter.
