Later that week I was searching for something for my mom when I found a picture of John and me. That’s when I realized that John was the one I had a crush on. Not some random guy in my class. It was John. He had one on me and even asked me out. I said no because he was on the Flying Dragons and that’s when the fighting began.
“I wonder” I said as I got up. I ran over to John’s house.
“John!” I said as I caught my breath. I saw the light quickly fill up his eyes and quickly leave.
“What?” he snapped at me.
“Jenny told me you still wanted to go out with me,” (Jenny was my murdered sister)
“So yes. I will go out with you.” I said. John’s eyes filled with delight and that delight didn’t leave.
“Really?” He asked. I didn’t answer. I just pulled him towards me.
A week later, John and I had our first date. He took me to my favorite place. We had the best time. Until Michael Watzo showed up. Sadness flooded within me as John got up to leave.
“Bike ride through Cirk trail tomorrow?” he asked as he paid for our meal.
“Sounds Perfect.” I said right before he kissed me. I ate the rest of my meal and sulked. It seemed every time I wanted to hang out with John, Mr. Watzo had to show up. Then I shook my head. I couldn’t mess with that thought. I couldn’t lose John again. I grasped the locket he gave me for my last birthday.
“You ok?” Dad said as he came up behind me. I nodded, got up and started walking with him back home.
