Chapter 19

**Zayan's POV**

I could feel the weight of their anger, their disappointment, crushing me with each passing second. Arhan grabbed my collar, his face twisted in fury. "How could you do this to her, Zayan? She loves you, damn it!" His voice cracked with the rawness of betrayal.

"Arhan," Rafe's calm voice interrupted, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Take a step back."

But Arhan wasn't done. His eyes burned with the pain of someone who had watched a loved one suffer, and he wasn't about to hold back. "Please, Rafe! You know everything about him, yet you said nothing to Alishba. You stood by him like a brother, but where are you now?" He turned to me, his expression breaking as his words hit deeper than any punch could. "You were supposed to protect her. Instead, you hurt her... you slapped her."

My chest tightened. Every word they said, each accusation, was deserved. How could I look them in the eye? How could I defend myself when I had betrayed their trust? I felt smaller, like a boy caught in a lie, unable to meet their gazes.

I could barely hear the words that followed, their voices becoming a distant hum as my thoughts spun in chaos. I saw Alishba's mother break down, her tears falling freely as she clutched her heart. "We gave her to you, Zayan," she sobbed. "We treated her like a princess, loved her... and you...you played with her life ?"

I swallowed hard. How could I explain? How could I justify the unforgivable? There were no excuses, no reason that would ever make this okay.

The silence that followed felt suffocating, a heavy cloud hanging over us, filled with the weight of everything I had done. I couldn't even look at her mother, knowing how much I had destroyed in one moment of anger.

"I should've never let it come to this," I murmured. My voice barely registered above a whisper, my shame swallowing me whole.

The door slammed open, Mr. Abdul's voice cutting through the quiet storm. "I want my daughter, Zayan. You've hurt her enough, and now it's your responsibility to find her."

I nodded, the truth of his words cutting me like a knife. She was my responsibility. She always had been. And now she was gone. I had failed her.

"Where is she?" I choked out, desperation creeping into my voice. "Please, help me find her." I could feel my hands shaking, my body trembling with the fear of what might have happened to her.

The clock was ticking, and it felt like every second that passed without her was a second too long.

"Please," I begged, my hands clasped together in front of them, trying to find some shred of humility I could offer. "I know I've hurt her, and I don't deserve your forgiveness... But please, for Alishba, give me a chance to make things right."

The silence was deafening, heavy with the weight of their decision.

"You have 24 hours, Zayan," Mr. Abdul's voice was final, the anger in his eyes barely contained. "If you don't find her in 24 hours, I don't know what I'll do."

"I promise you," I said, my voice steady despite the storm inside me. "I'll bring her back. I will get her back, no matter what it takes."

Minal's voice broke through the tension, sharp and filled with worry. "I called everyone. Alishba isn't at their place."

I could feel my heart racing, each passing moment another cut to my soul.

"I think we need to call the police," Arhan suggested, his voice a low growl of frustration.

"I already called them," Rafe said, stepping forward, his expression tense. "They'll be here soon."

But the silence that followed was unbearable, the weight of uncertainty pressing down on all of us. Alishba's mom was crying now, her sobs gut-wrenching. "She didn't even call me. She's in trouble, Zayan. I know she is."
