The humming grew louder as I approached. I wrapped my spare hand around it and sprinted back up the steps towards daylight. This was the last time I'd see this place.

For a while...

The next day I was summoned by the Royal family to join them for breakfast. I stumbled along to the hall I'd been in previously when the argument with my favourite person occurred, the King (sarcasm should be duly noted). The stone had been placed in a cabinet beside my bed and I'd locked it, safely, away.
Slowly, I tiptoed into the room, through the arched doorway and into what could possibly be hell. Unlike before, there were tables littered over the place. Long dining tables and small circular tables were placed in seemingly random spots around the room. Many people were chatting and dining, biting down on their breakfast.
At the head of the table at the back sat the King, stuffing his face with pork chops and ribs. Any food you could possibly think of was there; the elven cargayhul dish and even a dwarven argëm. The argëm was a beautiful creature with long white fur draped over it. They all had bright green eyes and were the size of a hand. I never understood the desire to harm them...
The King glanced up and his eyes narrowed. I winced. His beady eyes glared at me and locked on to their prey. He stood and the room fell silent. Slowly lowering his hand, he pointed towards me and beckoned me forward. All eyes around the room had diverted towards the standoffish exchange happening between us.
Steadily, I stalked towards him forcefully. When I reached the desk, he gave me an unwelcoming smile and gestures to the seat next to the Queen. Almost as if on time, Mada arrived and plonked himself down. The King shook his head and moved to his hand to indicate I should be seated next to my original seat that the Magician had just stolen.
Following orders I circled around the left side of the table, before heading towards my seat. Unfortunately, I didn't get as close to my seat as I planned before an arm enclosed around my wrist and I span to face the opponent. It was only Reys, however much I kind-of wanted to hit the Royal bastard for not telling me about his bloodline still, I refrained from such actions.
"Good luck," he whispered, peaking my curiosity. I nodded my understanding and got back on my path towards the seat.
Sitting down, I was swallowed into a world of embarrassment and angst as it was revealed to me and everyone else in the hall that I was to take lessons on our history, on who I am, and where I come from. I had to learn everything from scratch.
Let's just hope my history lessons paid off in school... I thought to myself, teeth gritted.
****A/N****
Sorry I haven't posted for so long but I already explained in the authors note that I was busy and had a lil bit of writers block. Alas! I am over it and getting back on track, my lovely readers. This is just a filler chapter, which is why it is so short. Can't wait for you guys to see what happens next. Hopefully I can post more tonight! In the mean time, I have been writing not one BUT TWO NEW BOOKS! One's already published and you should go and read it (It's called 'New In Town') and the second one is still a work in progress and is called 'She's the New Girl'.
Xoxo, MissManic
