As I walked through the park, I could tell that there was no one there. I couldn't hear the screams of laughter from children, or the dogs barking. Well it might be because the weather was so bad, but I've seen kids out here when there was a blizzard. I shoved my hands in the pocket of my hoodie as I walked towards the picnic tables. I saw the neon pink t-shirt sitting on a picnic table as I came closer. As I kept walking the person who was wearing the pink T-shirt began to look less and less like Peer. I stopped halfway as looked around to see if I was in the wrong place, but I didn't see anyone else. I felt a vibration in my pocket that startled me. I reached my hand in my pants pocket to pull out my phone. Peer was calling me. "Hey, am I in the wrong park? Or wrong area?"
"Crap. You're already there?"
"Uh. Yea? We were supposed to be here today right?"
"I was on my way there when I called Colin and he said he couldn't make it. He can't do it until later, he said Wednesday, but I obviously can't be there! So he'll text me later this week and I'll text you."
"Wait! Are you in your car?"
"Uh. I'm on my way home now, why?"
"Meet me at the movie theater. Now." I turned and ran to my car.
"What? Why? Jaren, what are you doing?" I hopped in my car and began to rub my hand on my jeans.
"Just be there. Okay? Love you!"
"Uh, love you?" I hung up as I started the car. I rushed out of the parking lot to hurry to the movie theater. Wait! Flowers. Flowers are romantic. Especially if unexpected. I violently turned left at the green light to get to the florists before Peer got to the movie theater. I ran inside, with my car still running, and slapped my hand on the bell forty times. "Yes, Sir?" The calm old lady came out from behind the counter.
"Yes. I need a single rose."
"Forgot the anniversary?" She shocked and confused me as she slowly walked to the roses.
"Uh, no? Why? Does it seem like it?" The old lady grabbed one rose and shrugged her shoulders.
"No. You're too young for that. Do you want single, nine, or dozen?"
"Um. I asked for single. Why? Is there a difference?"
"A single red rose means 'I love you', while nine means 'I want to be together forever' and a dozen means 'I love you twelve months in the year'"
"Oh yes a dozen. When I explain it to her, she'll like the meaning." The woman smiled as she put together the red roses and came back towards the counter.
"There you go. Good luck."
"Thank you!" I grabbed the bouquet and an back to my car. Surprisingly no one stole it.
I showed up to the movie theater and saw that Peer's car wasn't there yet. Good. I dashed out the car after I parked it and ran up to the building. Luckily our town has an old fashioned movie theater with the single ticket's counter outside and posters of movies all around outside. "Hello, Sir. May I help you?" The ticket person startled me. I guess I've really let my guard down.m"Oh. Uh. No. Not yet. Thank you." He smiled at me and looked away as I turned to look at the many movie posters. I went through each one to figure out which movie I should take Peer in to see. Horror. Horror. Comedy. Classic. Foreign. Foreign. Foreign. Horror. Man. Our movie theater sucks. I walked up To the ticket counter guy again. "Now you can help me." I smiled to him.
"That's what I'm here for!"
"Okay. So. I invited this girl to come see a movie with me, and it was just kind of a spur of the moment thing, so I don't know what movie to take her to. I don't know if you can help me, but do you any romance movies here? And if we have to, I will go to a chick flick if I have to."
"I got just what you need! 'One Night' is coming on in thirty minutes and it's just it. Not a chick flick, but it's about a guy asking a girl out and she keeps rejecting him, but he always tells her 'I just need one night. One night to show you wrong.' and, I won't tell you how it ends."
"Perfect! Alright I will take two tickets to One Night, please." I grinned at the ticket guy as he pulled out the tickets from a drawer.
"Here you go! And good luck with your girl." I slid the tickets off the counter with one hand, while trying to balance the flowers in the other.
"Thanks!" I turned to go look at another movies poster as the guy nodded his head. I found a comedy movie that interested me and I studied the poster, waiting for Peer. I stood outside for a good ten minutes, until someone put their hands over my eyes. "Boo!" She yelled as she covered my sight. I heard her take a large breath in and take her hands off my face. "You got flowers?" She questioned, coming around to the front of me.
"Yea." I smiled and handed the bouquet to her. She grabbed the bouquet and snifffed the dozen roses.
"Jaren!!" She screamed and ran to me. She wrapped her arms around my neck and pressed her lips against mine. We stood there for a few minutes until I heard a song. I pulled away and turned my head to see the ticket guy singing a song. It seemed familiar, but I couldn't quite get it. I look to Peer, who let go of my neck, and she opened her mouth to talk, but nothing came out. I stomped over to the ticket guy to question him. "Excuse me. What song are you singing?" He looked up to me, but looked back down at the counter.
"Una canzone." I turned back to Peer to see she was just as shocked.
"What?" Peer ran over to me and grabbed my arm. I yanked it out of her grasp, but she reached for it again.
"Look at me." I impatiently looked at Peer to get her to be quiet. I looked in her eyes and I couldn't hear anything but her. She began to sing a song, but very quickly. I could tell it was the same song the ticket guy was singing and I figured it was in another language. The more she sang it, the more I could recognize it. The song! It was the song that she sang on Friday to me and she disappeared. Then it hit me. "No!" I screamed. What was I supposed to do once she disappeared? Was I supposed to do anything? Was something going to happen? I was so confused. Once she finished the song, she turned away from me and spoke to the ticket guy in the same language, Italian. They had a conversation for a minute, but I could only hear Peer's side of the conversation. She nodded her head and turned back to me. Wait. I thought she said only I could see her when she sang. How was she having a conversation with the guy when only I was supposed to see her. She came closer to me and sang the song again, then I could hear everything again. "What just happened?" I questioned. Peer dragged me back to the poster we were standing next to and grabbed me by the shoulders.
"Listen. I still have to explain a lot about my life to you."
"Yea. You do. Probably more than you think."
"Um. No. More than you think." Great.

Woah. Even I'm confused. And I'm writing it! No just joking, I know what's happening and what will happen. I realize now that there are some mistakes in the previous chapters and I will go fix those, but don't worry. They won't be drastic. So unless something really confused you, you shouldn't have to go back and read it. And I would have put more in this chapter and more Italian to explain more, but I'm on the iPad and I can't copy and paste the Italian like I would like to. But I hope you guys like this! I will try to explain WAY more in the next chapter so it's not so confusing. Vote! Comment! Read! Fan! Anything! Thanks :) oh and I know I keep going back and forh between fantasy and teen fiction but I can't decide! But for now I will keep this story as fantasy. For a while ;)
