Mark's POV:
"Hmmm, should I buy this or find another one" I said as I look at the two books in my hands. Suddenly, I felt someone bump into me. I turned around to see a little girl who looked like she was 5 rubbing her eyes and squinting at me. I looked down and saw her glasses on the floor. I picked them up, cleaned them and I gave them to the little girl. "Be careful next time please." She put her glasses on and smiled up  at me. "Thank you mister." I was about to pat her head when all of sudden I heard books fall with a thunderous thud and a gasp to go with it. I looked into that direction and saw a woman, maybe early 30s, with her hand over her mouth. I straightened myself as she quickly speed walked towards us. She grabbed the little girl and looked back at me with fear and anger in her eyes. "I-I'm so sorry for what my daughter did, i-it was an accident,I swear." Her daughter slipped behind her mother and I looked at the mother again. I put my hands up and she flinched like i was gonna attack. "No need ma'am, just go on with yourselves." The mother nodded and quickly rushed over to the pile of books. Her daughter quickly flashed a smile and rushed off with her mother to help. I smiled briefly before realizing that the daughter had no idea of my being or who I am. I turned back to the bookshelf and picked out the books I wanted. After a few minutes, I finally decided on two books and I walked to the counter.  The lady of the counter was in the middle of scanning when all of a sudden, I hear cheering and yelling outside. I looked outside the window but to my dismay the window was blocking important things. The lady quickly scanned my items, put them in a bag and gave it to me. She quickly ran outside with a smile on her face and even closed the store. I was confused and decided to go outside and see what the fuss was all about. As I walk outside, I noticed that the people were cheering and screaming. With my bag tightly in my fist, I made my way through the crowd and I tried to look out to the streets. I was about to escape the large crowd when all of a sudden, a tiny, warm hand grabbed my free cold one. I looked down to see that it is the girl from the bookstore. "Mister, aren't you gonna stay, the heroes and there offspring has returned." I raised one eye brow up and soon, my curiosity allowed some girl to drag me back into the chaotic crowd and to the front of it. I looked at the front and she was right, heroes have returned. I despise heroes with a passion, especially the McLoughlin hero. He is a man of bravery, a kind soul, and the ability to boast louder than anyone. He's such a prick. He killed my father and got the highest honor for it. Now he wears that medal as if no one else could get it but him. Speak of devil himself, here he comes on a white horse. I was almost about to turn away when all of sudden, something catches my eyes. Someone behind him, looks about my age, is waving and blushing. He looks so cute and smol. I see the girls falling for him and the adults admiring him. I, myself, is caught staring at this boy. He turned to me and my heart just went boom out of my chest. His eyes, God. His eyes are like the rarest blue diamond. They were so soft and warm. I got lost in them until I heard a voice. "Well, hello little Mark. My, how you've grown." The McLoughlin hero was in front of me, smiling a shit eating grin. The horse was being petted by the people close to him. I looked him in the eyes with fire in it and I frowned. "And my, look how old you've gotten, must've been one hell of a nap out there, huh?" His grin faded and then the boy I was looking at came up beside us with his horse. "Father, why'd you stop?" They're related, of course this was a trap, I can't believe I let myself get lost in him. But why do I still want him here? "Oh, nothing son, I just saw a familiar face and I'd thought I'd see him." He turned to me and I give him a death glare. "Son, I'd like you to meet, Mark Fischbach Aka Darky Jr." The crowd around us gasped and I heard them step back. I still looked at this asshole with my death glare. "Now son, when you get a bit older, you'll probably meet someone like this, someone from the dark family. Like i did once." He flashed his medal and the son looked a bit uncomfortable but i didn't care for the moment. I was pissed. "Stop flashing that stupid damn medal like you earned it." I gritted my teeth and flashed my sharp teeth. "I'm sorry, but i did earn it. I slayed him fair and square. It's been years, you should give it a rest and come to the banquet that's happening in my mansion at 9 pm." He leaned in and placed his hand on my shoulder. My eyes burned and so did my shoulder. He flinched his hand back and  started to blow on his hand. He looked back to me, still holding his hand, with a now angry expression. "As if I'd go to a party where heroes are half the people there. So, fuck you, fuck your party, and I'm not going." I walked off towards my home while some people gasped and flinched. I didn't care right now, I wanted to go home and forget this. I got home and tossed my bag of books on the couch and sat beside it. I sighed and calmed down my rage. That guy makes me so mad. But then I remembered the boy. 'No way something so innocent looking and cute came from that old coot.' I thought to myself. I leaned back into the comfort of my couch and sighed deeply. 'I'm digging myself into a hole that won't let me go.' I got up and grabbed the bag of books on the couch. I walk to my bookshelf and neatly placed them in a specific order and I quickly walked upstairs and into my room. 'If I do go, then nobody will probably know I'm there and forget it. But if someone did see me, would they even know who I am. I mean, like the large crowd of people today on the street, no-one recognized me until that prick announced it.' I found myself pacing and contemplating but i didn't care. I wanted to know if I could just crash a party and maybe, see him.... My cheeks were on fire and I shook my head. 'No, you have no time for this. I'll just crash the party because fuck it, I have nothing better to do and plus, Prince of chaos and darkness, it's basically calling out to me.' I walk to my walk in closet and start looking for my only tux. "Ah, there you are old friend, let's go to a party.
