(Lacey's p.o.v)
Randy shows up. Why? I have no clue. But I kick him off my yard and finish talking to Jeff. "Lacey, you belong with me! Please, stay with me!" he pouts. I push his offer away. "Jeff, I'm with someone. Just go away!" I snap, slamming the door in his face. Serena looks at me. "Alisha, you slammed the door. The kids?" she reminds me. I cover my mouth. "That's right!" I whisper. Quietly, I walk up the stairs to see Stella and Laden sound asleep. That's good. So now I need to go to bed. I get ready to go to bed and slip under the big blankets.
That night, I didn't sleep at all. Which sucks because I had work the next morning. When I wake up, I call work to tell them I'm sick. The boss understands and lets me go for the day. I lay in bed all day. "Are you going to move?" Laden asks. I pull him over. "Mommy doesn't feel well," I say. Laden nods and leaves the room. I just sit there, not eating, sleeping, or even watching TV. I just lay there. Something was wrong. I knew it. ------------------------------------------------------ Sorry this chapter was so short.
